He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 156

He answered almost immediately.

"Sebastian? It's me," Janetta said softly, her tone as sweet as spun sugar.

Sebastian let out a low hum in response.

"I am so sorry. I never intended for this to become such a massive PR disaster for you. When the reporters ambushed me just now, I cleared everything up. Please don't worry, I won't let anything like this happen again." She sounded devastatingly tender, shouldering all the blame without hesitation. She made it seem as though she was fiercely protecting his empire, treating him like the absolute center of her universe.

"I don't care if people drag my name through the mud. I just don't want your reputation ruined. Helena must have been so panicked, and that's why she liked that comment and hired The Troll Army to frame me as a homewrecker," Janetta added, slipping the accusation right in.

"But please don't be angry with her. At the end of the day, she is your legal wife. To the rest of the world, I really am just the other woman." Her voice cracked beautifully, laced with just enough unshed tears to sound heartbroken, yet incredibly brave.

The icy severity melted off Sebastian's features. A deep, heavy guilt softened his eyes.

"Jana, listen to me. Stop overthinking this. None of this is your fault, and I'll handle the fallout," he promised firmly. "Just focus on taking care of yourself and our baby. The moment those shares are transferred to my name, I will give you the status you deserve."

"Okay," she murmured obediently. "Sebastian... I just never wanted to be a burden to you." She paused, letting out a shaky breath. "Because I love you so much. I really, really do."

"I love you too," Sebastian coaxed, his tone uncharacteristically gentle. It was exactly what she needed to hear to feel completely validated.

"I'll have Carter Miles deliver that jewelry set you liked. I already had my team secure it in Zurich," he added smoothly.

"You spoil me too much," Janetta whispered, her lips curling into a triumphant smirk.
