He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 251

Helena stared quietly at the glowing screen, knowing exactly what Julian was getting at.

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard, typing a few words before deleting them all.

She simply didn't know how to answer him.

Her current relationship with Sebastian had become so convoluted that even she couldn't make sense of it.

Julian didn't give up. A moment later, a second message popped up.

Julian: [Lance mentioned that once you handle everything, you'll return to the team. Given the current situation, are you still coming back?]

This time, Helena replied.

Helena: [Yes.]

Julian: [Good.]

Helena didn't type anything else.

Just as she was about to put her phone away, Julian suddenly called.

Helena stared at the caller ID before finally answering.

The fact that Julian was calling meant he was keeping a close eye on her. He knew Sebastian wasn't around right now.

When she picked up, she didn't speak immediately.

"Lena, wouldn't it be better to return early?" Julian asked gently.

Helena remained silent.

Julian didn't mind. "I'll handle the rest. You don't need to worry about a thing."

"Jules..." Helena began helplessly.

"I love you, you know that. For all these years, my feelings have never wavered," Julian said plainly.

He was never one to hide his intentions. When he wanted something, he laid it out in the open.

"When you insisted on choosing Sebastian back then, I respected your decision and stepped aside. But that was under the condition that he treated you well."

He didn't give her a chance to interrupt.

"Now it's clear he doesn't. Even his current display of affection is completely fake. It's just a show to provoke Janetta. Are you still refusing to give up on him?"

"But this all hinges on your safety. If you're ever in danger, I absolutely won't let Sebastian get away with it." His tone left no room for doubt.

After a long pause, Helena let out a soft sigh. "Julian..."

"I still prefer it when you call me Jules," he said lightly.

Helena didn't oblige.

Julian didn't push it. "Just stay safe. Janetta is far more dangerous than you think."

"I know. Thank you," Helena nodded.

"Silly girl, there's no need to thank me. If anything happens, call me immediately. I'll be in Riverton."

"Okay."

With that, Julian hung up.

Helena stared calmly at the dark screen for a moment.

Then she stood up and headed to the restroom.
