Donovan knew exactly how Julian's mind worked.
Pushing him too hard right now would only make him rebel, throwing gasoline on an already volatile situation.
Julian just listened in silence, and that quiet defiance only made Donovan more anxious.
Ever since he was a teenager, this grandson had been entirely beyond his control.
He was too independent, too strong-willed.
Even when the family cut off every cent of his financial support years ago, Julian had still managed to build a massive fortune from the ground up.
Donovan knew the harsh reality: the Campbell family needed Julian far more than Julian needed them.
After letting his grandfather finish, Julian finally spoke. His tone was casual, yet wrapped in unbreakable steel.
"Grandpa, she's the only one I want."
There was no room for negotiation. He was making his absolute devotion painfully clear.
Donovan was stunned into silence.
Julian didn't try to fill the quiet.
Finally, Donovan found his voice again. "If you're truly dead set on this, she at least has to leave that marriage cleanly. I won't have the Hayes family pointing fingers and dragging the Campbells through the mud."
"Understood," Julian replied evenly.
Donovan didn't push it any further and ended the call.
Julian knew he had the power to do whatever he wanted.
But for Helena's sake, he had to keep his rebellious nature in check.
He knew better than anyone that if he forced the issue, he could win.
But doing so would guarantee that the Campbell family would harbor a permanent, toxic prejudice against Helena.
Julian refused to turn her future into a battlefield.
Almost the very second he hung up, a group of men walked into the room.
"Sir," one of the bodyguards greeted Julian respectfully.
Julian cast a brief, indifferent glance over them, entirely unbothered by their sudden appearance.
As for the Campbell family, he genuinely needed to go back and handle the situation before it spiraled out of control and caused endless problems later.
With his mind made up, Julian swallowed his reluctance and strode purposefully out of the hospital.
At the same time, inside the emergency room.
The Doctor frowned deeply throughout the examination. Once Helena was stabilized, he turned to face Sebastian.
"I've warned you repeatedly that this patient cannot endure any more emotional trauma. You can't just assume you'll get lucky every time," The Doctor scolded, barely keeping his frustration in check.
Given Sebastian's immense wealth and power, The Doctor didn't dare push too hard.
Before Sebastian could even formulate a response, Helena stared at him, her eyes wide with frantic anxiety. She was terrified of what he might do next.
Terrified of what he might do to Julian.
Her panic was written plainly across her face, and Sebastian caught it instantly.
He let out a dark scoff, stepping closer to deliver a brutally direct warning.
"Helena, if you dare pull another stunt, I'll have them take this baby out right now. It's far enough along. It'll survive," Sebastian threatened, his features hardened into a mask of pure ice.
