He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 309

Helena stood quietly to the side, her face an unreadable mask of calm.

"Let's trash all these trinkets for now. Once I'm fully recovered and out of my confinement period, I'll go to the boutique and pick out new pieces myself."

Janetta rattled off a dozen more items to be destroyed.

Then, she turned back to Sebastian. "Let's start with that. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know, okay?"

"Mm. Whatever you want," he agreed easily, firmly planting himself in her corner.

Janetta bit her lip, suddenly looking deeply conflicted. "Seb, are you really going to make her do this all by herself? That bed alone... she'll never be able to move it."

"If she can't, she can drop dead," Sebastian snapped ruthlessly.

Janetta sighed in distress. "Well, if it's going to take that long, I guess I won't be able to sleep in here tonight."

Taking the cue, his icy glare locked onto Helena.

"It's noon now. Have it completely cleared out by tonight," he ordered in a tone that brokered no refusal.

Helena knew he was just trying to break her.

He wanted to watch her suffer.

With his unwavering protection, Janetta was free to be as vile as she wanted.

So, Helena didn't fight back. "Okay."

Her voice was dead. Stripped of all emotion, leaving only empty obedience.

But her compliance didn't satisfy him at all.

His mind flashed to the fiery woman who used to argue with him, who used to fight for her place.

Not this hollow shell standing in front of him.

The calmer she acted, the more twisted and sadistic his gaze became.

He wanted to see her break down. He wanted her crawling on her knees, begging for mercy.

That was the only way he could feel like he had won.

Instead, this bizarre standoff made him feel like he was the one trapped in a cage of his own making.

But he refused to let his frustration show.

Without another word, he turned and led Janetta toward the door.

As they brushed past Helena, Janetta suddenly stumbled—whether intentionally or not—and collided hard with her.

A sharp cramp tore through Helena's abdomen.
