He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 378

"The damaged cornea is beyond saving. However, the other cornea hasn't been completely compromised yet, meaning she still retains some vision. But the relentless inflammation is rapidly rendering it completely unusable as well."

"If we harvest the remaining functional cornea now, it guarantees total blindness."

The doctor patiently repeated the grim prognosis.

Sebastian remained silent, offering nothing but a curt nod.

Leaving the office, he headed straight back to the ICU.

Throughout the entire walk, his face was cast in dark shadows.

Inside the ward, he looked down at Helena.

Her body was terrifyingly weak, spending the vast majority of her time unconscious and trapped in nightmares.

Even in her sleep, she was completely on edge.

She continuously mumbled in a feverish state: "I didn't do it... don't... Wynn, Wynn... I'm so sorry..."

She repeated the fragmented apologies over and over.

But no matter what, she wouldn't wake up.

She was drenched in a cold sweat.

Her fingers were dug fiercely into the bedsheets.

Nothing could pry her grip open.

Sebastian tried to take her hand to ease her tension, but even he couldn't loosen her hold.

It felt like a silent tug-of-war between them.

Whether it was because of that struggle, or simply because she sensed his presence.

Helena finally violently jerked awake from her nightmare.

The absolute second her eyes landed on Sebastian, her expression morphed into deep-seated repulsion.

She yanked her hand back instantly.

Even though they were standing right next to each other.

She managed to carve out an impenetrable, gaping distance between them.

An absolute boundary she refused to cross.

Her defensive posture made Sebastian's eyes darken.

"Is this how you're going to look at me every time now?" he asked, his voice low and heavy.

"Sebastian, even if Wynn is dead, I demand to know where he is. Where is he buried? Was he cremated? Or was he just dumped somewhere like trash?" Her tone was chillingly calm, almost mechanical.

The medical team rushed inside.

Helena's surgical wound had torn open again.

"Hemostatic injection, hurry!" the doctor barked out calmly.

Helena was violently thrashing.

The doctor's brow furrowed tightly.

She had been pumped with so many sedatives recently that her body was actively fighting them off.

But if they couldn't get her under control, her physical state would catastrophically crash.

While the doctor hesitated.

Sebastian's hand suddenly clamped down hard over Helena's.

Without thinking, she fought wildly to shake him off.

Even the medical staff looked horrified, terrified she was going to rip her stitches completely open.

In a flash, Sebastian shot her a warning glare, a clear threat.

"Move one more time, and I swear you will never see Wynn or your daughter for the rest of your life," he enunciated with chilling clarity.
