His voice was low, slightly raspy, and his eyes burned with a dark, predatory heat.
Helena didn't miss the intensity in his gaze.
She didn't say a word, just offered a quiet nod before stepping out of the car.
Instinctively, her fingers brushed against her own lips. She could still feel the lingering heat of his mouth.
It seemed that ever since Sebastian showed up, Julian had become far more aggressive.
It was as if all the restraint he had practiced over the last few years was slowly starting to crack.
Helena knew exactly what was running through his mind.
Unable to help herself, she let out a silent sigh.
Taking a deep breath to compose herself, she kept her head down and walked elegantly toward the boutique.
Julian had already called ahead.
By the time she arrived, the store manager was waiting for her at the front entrance.
"Mrs. Campbell, let me show you to the VIP suite. We do have another client in the store today, but I assure you, she won't be a disturbance," the manager said, his tone excessively polite and cautious.
Whenever Helena shopped for a gown, Julian strictly mandated that the store close its doors to the public.
She had always thought it was completely unnecessary.
It was just too extravagant.
But Julian was stubborn about it, so she had eventually stopped arguing.
Hearing that someone else was here caught her off guard.
"You see, she booked her appointment weeks in advance. Mr. Campbell only called us this morning, so we didn't have time to reschedule her," the manager explained, looking thoroughly stressed. "And given her status... it wouldn't be appropriate for me to ask her to leave."
Seeing his panic, Helena gave an understanding nod. "It's fine."
She figured the other woman must be someone highly influential.
Otherwise, the manager wouldn't be sweating bullets over a simple scheduling conflict.
Besides, they would be in completely separate VIP suites anyway.
It genuinely didn't bother her.
