Life was long, and if one stayed entangled in a single issue, they would likely never escape it.
Inability to let go meant staying stuck in place for a lifetime.
Eventually, they would drown in that depression, unable to break free.
Rory knew this all too well.
Helena used to be on Antidepressants.
Because she couldn't accept reality.
So now, everyone knew this wasn't doing her any good.
But since she was determined to do this, even Julian protested only with silence.
Rather than physically stopping her.
Could they stop her if they tried?
Yes, as long as they used Hope, they could stop her.
But what would be the result? It would just drag her back to square one.
Utterly devastated.
So no one dared to take that gamble.
"Okay," Helena softly replied after a long silence.
Rory changed the subject, chatted for another minute, and didn't linger.
Soon, they ended the call.
After hanging up, Helena felt even more awake. All traces of exhaustion had vanished.
She looked down at the girl sleeping beside her.
The little one was sleeping soundly, completely unaffected.
Her gaze softened as she gently tucked the blanket around her.
Then she pressed a kiss to her forehead.
Helena got up, planning to go out and grab a bottle of Mineral Water.
She walked out of the room with light steps.
She carefully closed the door, and when she looked up, she saw Sebastian staring right at her.
He had obviously just showered and was wearing nothing but a hotel bathrobe.
He was sitting at the living room table, going over some work.
She clearly hadn't expected him to be there.
She thought he would be sleeping in Kyle's room.
But on second thought, it made sense. The man was a workaholic.
Work always came first, no matter what.
