He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 175

Quentin leaned casually against the wall, asking the question with feigned nonchalance.

The three of them were blood brothers, born of the same mother and raised side by side.

The bond they shared wasn't something outsiders could easily comprehend.

Yorath gazed out the window, keeping his silence.

Quentin pressed on. "She isn't right for you, Yorath."

For a kept woman, she was too much drama. She caused entirely too many problems.

Given Yorath's status, he needed to maintain absolute discretion, staying out of the spotlight at all costs.

Yet Ottilie was a walking PR disaster in the entertainment industry, leaving behind an endless trail of messes to clean up.

Yorath continued to remain silent.

Quentin added, "Three years ago, during that critical juncture with your background checks for office, she caused that massive scandal. You shielded her and sacrificed your political career once. Sending her to St. Dymphna's kept her alive. As her sponsor, you've already done more than enough."

"If you're willing to throw me in jail just for her, then I have nothing left to say."

With that, Quentin turned and walked away.

Yorath didn't look back. He just stood motionless, staring blankly at the scenery outside.

"Yorath."

He turned his head and saw Nyssa standing behind him, watching him cautiously.

"What is it?"

"Mrs. Fordham is out of surgery."

Yorath looked up and saw his mother being wheeled toward the elevators.

He quickly followed.

Trailing behind him, Nyssa said, "When I came back to look after her earlier, she mentioned seeing the news about us dating. She said she doesn't object to it."

Yorath stopped in his tracks, his peripheral vision landing on Nyssa.

An A-list star's face was her greatest asset.

"She has three sons watching over her. There's no room for an outsider like me. Even if they wanted an outsider, the extended Fordham relatives and an endless line of elite executives' wives would fight to the death just for the chance to serve her. A person like me isn't even qualified to be tested as a bone marrow match."

When Nyssa had rushed to the hospital, she had been the first to offer herself as a donor.

Yet, with just one phone call, Lyle had summoned a massive crowd of willing candidates.

With millions in cash rewards on the line, let alone their own employees, they could grab a random stranger off the street and the person would be begging to do it.

If a problem could be solved with money, the Fordhams would never resort to owing favors.

There was no way the Fordham family would ever allow themselves to be indebted to Nyssa.

Kendrick said, "Our contract with Mr. Fordham lasts for another three years. If you can't manage to marry him within this timeframe, all our plans will be ruined."

"I have to get pregnant with Yorath's child," Nyssa said firmly. "And it has to be a boy."

The entire fiasco with Ottilie's fake pregnancy had proven just how desperately Yorath wanted a child. Magnus Harrington also placed immense value on Yorath's bloodline. As long as she could give Yorath his firstborn, any demands she made wouldn't even be a blip on the Fordham family's radar.
