He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 202

Jevon Crawford, who had stayed at the hospital overnight, overheard the call. "Ottilie is live streaming?" he asked in shock. "Since when? Who approved this?"

He grabbed the remote, turned on the smart TV, and pulled up her personal account.

"She's using this one?"

Yorath didn't answer. He couldn't get out of bed or even sit up; he was forced to lie flat on his back.

For the first time, Jevon felt genuinely sorry for his friend.

While waiting for the stream, Yorath took two business calls.

He promised his clients he'd be carried into the courtroom on a stretcher to argue their cases if necessary.

At exactly eight o'clock, the live stream began.

She wore a simple, elegant outfit, her hair pinned up to showcase her exquisite face and slender neck.

She was incredibly photogenic—flawless from every angle.

She was born to be an actress.

Lachlan and Hayden sat on either side of her, flanking her like protective escorts.

Addressing the camera, Ottilie smiled. "Hello everyone, I'm Ottilie Sewell. I have officially terminated my contract with O.Y. Management and signed with Aegis Media. I hope you'll continue to support me."

Instantly, the hospital room fell dead silent.

Yorath frowned, glancing at his phone resting nearby.

A reporter asked, "We've heard that you had a very close relationship with O.Y.'s boss, Mr. Fordham. Does this contract termination mean there's trouble in paradise?"

The journalists had all been vetted by Lachlan. Their questions were professional and restrained.

They avoided bluntly asking if she had been dumped.

"Those are just rumors," Ottilie replied smoothly. "Mr. Fordham and I have a strictly professional relationship as boss and employee. Besides, he and Ms. Tarrant have already gone public. I have zero interest in being the other woman."

Had Yorath not named the agency O.Y.—combining their initials...

She never would have mistakenly believed he created it for her.

She wouldn't have spent years indulging in that one-sided delusion!

She had always thought he loved her.

Since the broadcast began, Yorath's phone had been ringing off the hook.

Snapping out of his daze amidst the incessant ringing, Jevon turned to his friend. "She's got a death wish."

The phone kept buzzing. Yorath could ignore everyone else, but when Marcella called, he had to answer.

"Yorath, I saw the news. What is going on?"

"It's just tabloid gossip," he said evenly.

Hanging up, he looked at Jevon. "Prepare for my discharge. We're going to The Empyrean."

Jevon immediately started making the arrangements.

After the press conference, Ottilie got into the car. Her phone was completely silent—not a single call.

Just as she was about to close the door, Hayden slipped inside.

"Ottilie, give me one minute. I'll say my piece and leave. I won't hold you up."

"Go ahead." She knew he wanted something.
