He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 219

Taking the hint, the host swiftly steered the conversation back on track.

The interview lasted roughly thirty minutes, during which Ottilie remained poised, charming, and remarkably grounded.

By the time the cameras stopped rolling, Yorath was nowhere to be found.

When she stepped out of the restroom, the press and the crew had already packed up and left.

Only Soren remained in the lounge.

"Ms. Sewell, Mr. Fordham requested that you wait here. You are not to leave this room until he returns."

"Understood," she replied.

Soren poured her a cup of tea, then sat silently in the corner, keeping watch.

A few minutes later, Nyssa Tarrant arrived.

She didn't bother knocking; she just threw the door open and barged in.

"Yorath, we have a problem—"

Stopping short when she realized he wasn't there, she turned to Soren. "Where is he?"

"I'm not sure. Is there an issue, Ms. Tarrant?"

"If he isn't here, I need to find Jevon."

"Mr. Crawford is also unavailable," Soren answered politely.

Nyssa frowned in sheer frustration. "Fine. Sorry for the interruption."

With that, she turned on her heel and rushed out.

Ottilie was never one for gossip or drama, entirely indifferent to whatever crisis was unfolding outside.

And she cared even less about Nyssa's problems.

Suddenly, Soren stood up. "Ms. Sewell, I think we should go take a look."

"Is it absolutely necessary?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes."

That immediately confirmed this was another one of Yorath's orchestrated plays.

"Then let's go." She stood up, smoothed out her dress, and followed him out the door.

"Put the cameras down and delete the footage," Hayden demanded, his voice shaking with barely suppressed panic. "Name your price."

The middle-aged executive chimed in, equally frantic. "Erase everything right now, and we can settle this quietly. If this leaks, I will personally ensure none of you ever work in this industry again!"

Just as the words left his mouth, he locked eyes with Ottilie. In a fraction of a second, he realized exactly what had happened.

"You set me up!" he roared.

Leaning casually against the doorframe, she offered a small, cool smile. "I'm just here for the show. I have absolutely nothing to do with this."

"Call your dogs off and delete the video!" the executive bellowed. "Or I'll ruin you!"

Right on cue, the heavy sound of approaching footsteps echoed from the hallway.

Yorath's smooth, commanding voice cut through the chaos. "Ms. Sewell asked me to meet her here to discuss a private matter. Where is she?"

"She's inside, sir," Soren replied dutifully.

Lachlan's voice followed closely behind. "She was supposed to meet with Mr. Crawford, but she never showed. What's she doing here? Did something happen to her?"

"No, no, she's fine!" Nyssa stammered frantically, throwing her weight against the door. "It's just not a good time. You really shouldn't go in there!"

Turning back toward the room, she hissed, "Ms. Sewell, say something! Tell them you're fine!"
