He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 225

"Go upstairs, take a shower, and change. Eat breakfast with me, and then we're going to the police station for you to turn yourself in."

"Okay." Quentin headed up the stairs and called out to Yvonne, "Yvonne, could you prep some clean clothes for me?"

She gave a respectful nod. "Right away, sir."

Yorath found his phone and turned it on, instantly receiving a call from Jevon.

"Yorath, Ottilie went home, stole her family records, and went off to get married. I didn't hear you guys were getting a license today. Is she marrying someone else?"

Yorath's grip tightened on the phone, his eyes freezing over.

"No."

Jevon asked, "Not you? Then who?"

Silence.

"Is it that Mr. Walden? I'll get the guys and crash City Hall right now."

"Stay out of it. I'll handle this."

He spoke a single sentence and hung up.

After washing up and returning downstairs, he found Quentin looking noticeably more cheerful.

He was joking with Yvonne. "You're getting so stuffy, Yvonne. You used to call me by my first name when we were kids!"

Setting down the breakfast, she replied rigidly, "I was ignorant as a child. Please forgive me, sir."

"Boring. If a stiff like you gets married, your in-laws will go crazy. Back in the day, Mandy was so gentle..."

Realizing that was a forbidden name, he immediately shut his mouth.

During breakfast, Lyle Fordham called.

He bypassed everyone and called Yorath directly.

"Yorath, Mom found out about Quentin. She's furious. She's got people looking into who set him up, saying she'll have their head for this."

Yorath replied unhurriedly, "We live in a civilized society. What's with the death threats?"

"What Ms. Sewell did was completely out of line. You've done more than enough for her, but she clearly doesn't see us as family."

"She has enough dirt on me to ruin me forever if she wanted revenge. The only reason I wouldn't use it is because I don't want to hear her say she doesn't love me."

In the past, she had loved him unconditionally.

She looked at him with sparkling eyes, treating him like a rare treasure.

Since her return, everyone could sense her complete apathy toward him.

That was why Jevon kept desperately insisting that she loved him to death.

Only when Yorath realized she didn't love him did he realize that he loved her.

Therefore, she absolutely had to love him back.

Quentin stared at his brother in utter disbelief.

The most cold-blooded, brilliant man in the family... was completely whipped!

Only one thought echoed in Quentin's mind.

*We're screwed!*
