He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 226

The cab pulled up to the school gate. Ottilie expected to be waiting a while.

But before the car even stopped, she spotted Yves waiting with a black briefcase, anxiously checking his watch.

He looked as if he'd been standing there forever.

Without getting out, she rolled down the window and called, "Mr. Walden."

His eyes lit up the moment he saw her, and he hurried into the backseat.

"Tilly, I had my mom bring my records to the school. We can go straight to City Hall now."

"That fast!" she exclaimed, genuinely surprised.

"Time is of the essence. Besides, I don't want to risk any delays."

He was thrilled, a warm tingle spreading through his chest just having someone so beautiful sitting beside him.

For a moment, she didn't know what to say.

But Yves had plenty to share. "I must be the luckiest man alive. The time between you calling me and right now has been the absolute happiest of my life."

Seeing him so earnest and blissful, she momentarily questioned if marrying him was the right choice.

He reached over and held her hand. "Tilly, you don't have to say anything, and you don't need to worry about the wedding arrangements. I'll take care of everything."

Feeling his sweaty palm, she knew he was nervous.

She decided to remain silent.

The drive wasn't long, yet she felt as if a millennia had passed.

Every red light dragged on endlessly.

By the time they arrived at City Hall, it was nearly ten o'clock.

Shawn lunged forward, grabbing Yves by the collar, and punched him squarely in the face.

"You son of a bitch! A broke loser in his thirties daring to touch my younger sister! I'll kill you!"

Fearing Yves would get seriously hurt, Ottilie rushed forward and kicked Shawn.

Losing his balance, Shawn tumbled down the steps, his head striking a broken brick jutting out from the pavement.

The sharp edge sliced his scalp, and blood instantly welled up.

Bystanders gasped, "Oh no, he's bleeding!"

Sitting up, Shawn touched his head and looked at his bloody hand.

He shrieked, "Mom, Dad! She and her random guy are trying to kill me! I'm bleeding!"

The Sewell parents favored their son beyond reason.
