He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 241

At the same time, she quickly typed out a few words and sent a message to a group chat.

Then, she rolled Yorath over. Seeing the gaping wound on his chest, she didn't bat an eye, simply pulling off a piece of clothing to staunch the bleeding.

Jevon arrived first. Rushing through the door, he froze for a few seconds as he took in the gruesome scene.

He immediately dashed over to Yorath and demanded of Yvonne, "Who did you notify?"

"I called Magnus," Yvonne replied flatly.

Jevon's eyelid twitched. He turned his head and gave Ottilie a long look.

If anyone else knew, she might have had a chance to run.

But with Magnus in the loop, Ottilie wouldn't just be unable to escape—she wouldn't even make it out of the city limits.

Elian Zouch was the second to arrive, trailing right behind the paramedics.

Yorath was rushed to the hospital with the utmost urgency.

As the wail of the ambulance faded into the distance...

Ottilie finally walked out of the bedroom. She stood at the entrance of the Meridian Villa, her face blank and dazed.

She had no idea where to go or what to do.

She stood there in a stupor for a good while before calling a rideshare and heading to Yves's place.

When she arrived at his bachelor pad, she knocked on the door with trembling hands.

As if he had a sixth sense, Yves opened the door almost instantly.

Seeing Ottilie standing there in her pajamas, her hands entirely coated in blood, he gasped in shock and pulled her inside.

"Are you hurt? Did Yorath do this?"

Ottilie nodded, then shook her head.

Yves grabbed a warm towel to wipe the blood from her hands, only to notice the jagged, crisscrossing cuts on her palms.

His pupils constricted. "I'm taking you to the hospital."

"I killed someone," Ottilie whispered, shaking her head.

Yves froze. "Who?"

"I killed Yorath." Just saying his name made her body tremble uncontrollably.

Yves's mind went completely blank for a split second. Then, he gently pulled her further inside and sat her down on the sofa.

"There's cash in here. Don't use your phone for the next few days. I have an old house out in the country. No one has lived there in decades, but it's habitable if you clean it up. Go stay there for a bit."

He packed her some food, grabbed her hand, and led her downstairs.

Ottilie was entirely out of it, moving in a haze without a single thought of her own.

They reached the parking lot downstairs. Just as Yves pulled the car door open...

Several figures emerged from behind the landscaping.

They weren't wearing uniforms, but their tall, muscular builds and agile movements screamed highly trained professionals.

They boxed Ottilie into the center. Her palms were sweating profusely.

Yves stepped in front of her. "Who are you? What do you want?"

The lead man spoke coldly. "Ms. Sewell, Magnus would like a word with you."

"We're not going anywhere," Yves snapped.

Before the men could even make a move, he grabbed Ottilie's bag and swung it hard at them.

"Get in!" He yanked the car door open and shoved Ottilie inside, desperate to drive her out of there.
