He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 246

Out in the hallway, Elian received Jevon's SOS text.

Even if Lorenzo Fordham himself were in there, Elian had the authority to walk in and strictly inform them that noise was prohibited in the VIP ward.

He usually found a polite excuse to clear the room.

But when it came to Yorath's mother, none of them dared to raise their voice.

Elian took a stroll down the hall and spotted the stern little nurse who had previously chewed him and Jevon out for smoking in the stairwell.

She used to be just an intern, but she was the head nurse now.

Elian had personally approved the promotion.

He waved her over. "Yara, come here for a second."

Yara practically worshipped the ground Elian walked on as the Vice Director.

Since her promotion, she had become even more diligent and dedicated.

Summoned by the Vice Director, she didn't act like a sycophant. She stood tall, all business.

"Director Zouch, what do you need?"

Elian gave her Yorath's room number. "In that suite, there are two women crying and arguing non-stop. The patient can't rest, and he just got out of major surgery. He's still unconscious."

Yara's eyes narrowed. Unacceptable.

"This is a hospital. These families have absolutely zero self-awareness. Don't worry, Director, I'll take care of it right now."

She gave him a sharp bow, spun on her heel, and marched toward the elevators.

Elian was immensely satisfied with her.

This was exactly what a hospital needed—fearless medical staff who put the patients above everything else, regardless of who they were dealing with.

Elian took another lap downstairs, giving her enough time to handle it, before heading back up to the suite.

Yara marched right into Yorath's room.

As soon as she pushed the door open, she heard a woman's voice drifting from the inner room, cutting across the sitting area.

Yara marched right up to the bed, immediately checking Yorath's temperature and IV line.

Nyssa, who had been quietly listening to the argument, quickly put on an apologetic smile.

"We're just here to take care of Mr. Fordham."

"He's in his most critical window post-surgery," Yara scolded. "With you all shouting like this, you wouldn't even notice if he flatlined right in front of you!"

With that, she gently lifted the blanket and used her stethoscope to examine him.

Feeling that his shirt was damp, she pulled the blanket back up.

Her expression hardened. "The patient's clothes are soaked through with sweat, and none of you even bothered to change him. Exactly who is supposed to be taking care of him here?"

In a hospital, a patient's family—no matter how powerful or wealthy—had to listen to the medical staff.

Even Marcella obediently took the scolding.

"I am his mother," she said. "I will take care of him."
