Shawn Sewell hurled a string of curses before finally recognizing the man sitting in the wheelchair at the door.
He froze for a second, then his face lit up. "Yorath Fordham!"
He rushed toward the entrance and yelled at the lounge owner, "I told you, all my expenses from the other night go on Mr. Fordham's tab! But you didn't believe me and locked me up! He's right here—what do you have to say for yourself now?"
"Mr. Fordham never agreed to pay your tab," the owner replied coldly.
Shawn stiffened, turning his gaze to Yorath.
"Yorath, you told me yourself! You said if I helped you host Mr. Walden, you'd cover all the expenses!"
"And did you host Mr. Walden?" Yorath asked smoothly.
Shawn coughed twice, lying through his teeth without missing a beat.
"I tried to, but he refused to come. What was I supposed to do?"
"Which means you didn't host him. And if you didn't host him, what do your personal expenses have to do with me?"
With that, he glanced at Jevon. "Let's go."
Jevon immediately began turning the wheelchair around.
Shawn had brought a whole crew of his buddies to the club, ordered several top-tier hostesses, and popped open a crate of vintage Lafite.
In a single night, he had racked up a bill of over eight hundred thousand.
Even if they chopped him up and sold him for parts, he wouldn't be worth that much.
Unable to pay, the owner had detained him, outright telling him he wasn't leaving until the debt was settled.
After agonizingly waiting for Yorath to show up, there was no way Shawn was letting his golden ticket roll away.
He lunged forward, blocking the wheelchair. "Yorath, you set me up!"
Yorath simply smiled, remaining silent.
Realizing that Yorath had absolutely intended to screw him over, Shawn's expression darkened into something ugly.
Because of an eight-hundred-thousand-dollar bar tab, if his parents didn't agree to Yorath's terms, Shawn would remain a hostage!
Shawn's face contorted with rage. "Yorath, you deceitful bastard!"
Furious, he raised his leg, aiming a brutal kick straight at Yorath.
Before his foot could even connect, Soren stepped out of the shadows, delivering a devastating kick that sent Shawn flying across the room. He crashed hard onto the floor of the VIP suite.
Right at that moment, Marie and James Sewell rushed in, arriving just in time to see their precious son being violently assaulted.
Marie screamed in horror, "You godless animal! How dare you hit my son! I'll kill you!"
She charged forward, only stopping when she realized the man in the wheelchair was Yorath.
Tears instantly began pouring down her face. "Mr. Fordham! It's you again! Why are you beating my son?!"
"I didn't order a beating on your son, it was self-defense," Yorath replied evenly. "Knowing full well I am severely injured, he still attempted to assault me. That constitutes attempted murder. Furthermore, he racked up an eight-hundred-thousand-dollar bill here in a single night and is currently being detained for it. I came here to negotiate his release, yet instead of showing gratitude, he attacked me the second he saw me. I believe you two owe me an explanation."
