Holding his gaze for two seconds, a sudden chill ran down Ottilie's spine.

She offered a faint smile, then turned to Yvonne. "Why doesn't Mr. Hadley have any pastries over there? Bring some over."

Yvonne immediately served him a plate.

Returning quickly to Ottilie's side, Yvonne whispered, "Mr. Hadley says he'd like to invite you for tea sometime, and asks that you please remove him from your blocklist."

She did have Hayden's contact info saved from the past.

But since they never had any business dealings, they hadn't kept in touch.

When did she block him?

She pulled out her phone and checked her blocked contacts.

Sure enough, Hayden was on the list.

Without unblocking him, she casually set her phone down.

Checking his own phone, Hayden sent her a message, only to find he was still blocked.

He gave her a helpless smile, stood up, and walked over to her.

"What exactly did I do to offend you? I'm on the blocklist, and I don't even know my crime."

Before she could reply, Yvonne rushed back in. "Ms. Sewell, the police are outside. They said Mr. Heath left our property and got into a car accident near the estate entrance. He's claiming Mr. Fordham did it. They want to come in and investigate."

Her voice wasn't loud, but in the quiet room, everyone heard it.

The guests immediately stood up, staring at Yvonne.

"Nonsense," Ottilie said firmly. "Mr. Fordham got drunk and has been resting next door this entire time. What does Heath's accident have to do with him? Invite the officers in to investigate and go wake Mr. Fordham."

Yvonne nodded and hurried off.

Ottilie turned a reassuring smile on the guests. "It seems it's not very safe out there tonight. Please, don't rush off just yet. Stay until the police clear everything up."
