He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 300

Seeing her head for the door, Yvonne quickly retrieved her shoes.

"Are you going out, Ms. Sewell?"

She threw a pointed look at the large kitchen knife tucked into Ottilie's waistband.

"Yes."

"I'll drive you."

"I'm going to kill someone. You want to come?" Ottilie asked casually.

"Yes. I can sharpen the knife for you," Yvonne replied without missing a beat. She walked down the steps, hauled the on-duty driver out of the car, and slid into the driver's seat herself.

She glanced back at Ottilie. "Where to?"

Ottilie got into the passenger seat, taking a close look at the young woman for the very first time.

She was incredibly young, with striking, razor-sharp features.

"Has anyone ever told you that you look very familiar?"

Yvonne kept her eyes perfectly trained on the road. "Familiar?"

It was the first time someone had used that word to describe her appearance.

"Yeah." Ottilie couldn't quite put her finger on it, but the familiarity was undeniable.

It was like looking at someone she had known for years; an instant, unshakable sense of recognition.

Yvonne was not a talkative person. Outside of work-related matters, she rarely spoke a single word to Ottilie.

True to form, after that brief exchange, the car fell dead silent.

Following Ottilie's directions, they soon arrived at the hospital.

"Wait for me in the car." Ottilie reached for the door handle.

"Leave the knife," Yvonne advised flatly. "It's too obvious. The security guards will spot it instantly; you'll never get it inside."

Realizing she was right, Ottilie pulled the heavy cleaver from her waistband and tossed it into the back seat.

"But you can't go in empty-handed either," Yvonne noted. "Here, take this."

She reached into her jacket pocket, pulled out a handgun, and casually tossed it over.

Ottilie caught it with both hands. A second later, a suppressor was tossed into her lap as well.

"Go on up. Press a pillow over his head, press the muzzle into the pillow, and empty the magazine. Get it done and be back in sixty seconds. I'll be waiting here to drive the getaway car."

Feeling the heavy, cold weight of the metal in her hands, Ottilie realized it was real.

"I don't know how to shoot."
