“I'm here to discuss a few things with Heath. Since you're here, you might as well listen in.”
Yorath took Ottilie's hand and led her to the hospital bed, pulling out a chair for her to sit on.
He stood behind her, resting his arm on the back of the chair, his fingertips brushing against her shoulder.
He gently traced the line of her shoulder blade, sending a tremor of electricity through her.
Ottilie's spine stiffened.
She glanced back at Yorath.
That single look held an indescribable allure, making him lose a bit of his restraint.
Yorath didn't dare touch her anymore and looked up at Heath instead.
This bastard was staring unblinkingly at Ottilie, his eyes practically glued to her body as if they were about to roll out of his head.
“Mr. Heath, I believe you invited my wife here?”
Heath tore his sticky gaze away from Ottilie.
The Schmidt family was exceptionally strict when it came to educating their children. Afraid their heirs would be taken advantage of by women, the elder Mr. Schmidt had arranged for countless beautiful companions to fulfill their personal needs the moment they came of age. There was an endless variety, no two the same.
Add to that his life in the vanity fair of the entertainment industry, and he had seen every type of stunning woman imaginable.
But Ottilie was the only one he had obsessed over for years, the only one he couldn't have.
The first time he saw her, he finally understood what it meant to desire a woman.
He realized that all the others before her were just cheap imitations.
It was just a damn shame that such a breathtaking beauty had been monopolized by Yorath Fordham.
In her eyes, no one existed but Yorath. No matter how many gifts Heath sent to win her favor, she wouldn't even spare him a glance.
Whenever Ottilie saw him, she treated him like he was the plague.
After meeting her, he had lost all interest in other women. He wanted her too badly.
His desires had nowhere to be vented.
That was what led to the incident three years ago.
In truth, he couldn't bear the thought of letting anyone else touch her.
He had only used those thugs to bully her so that when she was at her most helpless, he could swoop in and play the hero.
That way, she would have fallen completely and utterly for him.
