Winona was just about to nod.
Beside her, Melody tilted her chin up, flipping her ponytail with an almost arrogant posture. "No need. We want him to do it."
Winona's eyes widened slightly as she turned to look at Melody, wondering what kind of crazy act she was pulling.
Sensing her gaze, Melody raised an eyebrow, signaling that she knew exactly how this whole mean-girl routine worked.
She had almost forgotten—back when she was a complete brat, she loved coming to Jupiter's part-time jobs just to make his life difficult.
The past was too embarrassing to look back on.
Winona tugged at Melody's arm, signaling her to be quiet. She glanced at the expressionless Jupiter and told the manager, "My friend is just confused. No need for recommendations. We'll just take two of your signature drinks."
The manager gave Winona a strange look, probably trying to figure out why she had suddenly changed her tune.
But this was for the best.
The manager breathed a sigh of relief and happily prepared the two drinks.
Jupiter spoke in a low voice, "I'll pack them."
The manager hesitated for a second but quickly nodded, stepping out of the way.
Winona watched Jupiter.
The teenager packed the order with practiced ease. His fingers, looking like the finest white jade, grabbed a plastic bag printed with the shop's logo, placed the drinks inside, and slipped in some straws.
Seeing his index finger hook around the bag, Winona absurdly thought back to that chaotic night.
She had been in so much pain, crying and cursing at him.
It was with this exact hand that Jupiter had wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes.
...
"Your drinks," Jupiter said, handing the packed bag over to Winona.
Winona snapped back to reality.
When she met those deep eyes, intense embarrassment colored the tips of her ears red. "O-Okay."
She stammered, grabbed the drinks, and dragged a confused Melody away, fleeing the scene entirely.
After they left, the manager muttered, "Did the heiress get a personality transplant today?"
Jupiter masked the curiosity in his eyes and said plainly, "I wouldn't know."
