The Lennox household employed two drivers: Walter and Dan. Walter was generally responsible for driving Clarence Lennox and Stella Jenkins.

Dan, on the other hand, was in charge of taking the two siblings to and from school.

Dan and his wife only had the one son. He smiled, "He's in sixth grade. He'll be starting middle school soon."

Winona nodded. "That's nice."

She quickly turned her head to gaze out the window, as if the question had merely been a fleeting thought.

Dan cast a few extra glances in the rearview mirror and let out a faint sigh of relief.

Twenty minutes later, they pulled up to Villa Number 11 in Luna Bay right on time.

Seeing her familiar home, Winona walked in with a spring in her step, her backpack slung over her shoulders, and immediately spotted Stella.

Stella looked completely relaxed, sitting on the sofa with a steaming cup of black tea in front of her.

"Mom," Winona greeted her first.

Stella seemed a little surprised, casting her a nonchalant glance before quickly looking away. "Why are you back so early?"

"Classes ended, so I came home."

Thinking of her backpack full of homework made Winona feel miserable all over again.

Stella nodded, not saying another word.

Just as Winona was about to head to her bedroom to start on her assignments, she took two steps before Stella's phone suddenly rang.

"Yes."

"I'm Seth's mother..."

Hearing this, Winona stopped in her tracks. Standing on the stairs, holding onto the handrail, she turned back to listen.

About half a minute later, Stella hung up.

Martha walked out of the kitchen holding a plate of fruit and asked with concern, "What happened to Seth?"

Stella's expression remained unchanged. "He got into a brawl and ended up at the precinct. Go get him out."

"Oh my, fighting again? That's so dangerous." Martha looked thoroughly worried as she quickly set the fruit platter down on the coffee table. "You two eat; I'll go check on him."
