Chapter 173
Lyra looked ahead at the dense, shadowy horde of Wraiths and called out, “Ladies! Dinner’s here!”
Just then, Clara and Ivana drifted back from the direction of the Wraith mist. Ivana rejoined the group and immediately said. “The four made it onto the bus safe and sound.”
“Good,” Lyra nodded. “Perfect, everyone’s here. There’s a huge crowd up ahead. Let’s eat our fill before heading back to help Auntie and her group.”
Clara rubbed her hands together. “I’ve been waiting forever for this.”
Ivana grinned. “Time to hit my 200 targets!”
The ten souls split up and charged straight into the Wraith horde.
Jane took point. The instant she unleashed her soul power, the heads of the three Wraiths in the front row exploded all at once, their energy instantly sucked away.
Ivana darted in from the flank. When a Wraith lunged at her, she sidestepped, slammed her hand down on its head, and squeezed until it popped, draining its energy in a flash. The Wraith’s limbs twitched twice before it collapsed.
Clara was even more direct. She smashed two Wraith heads at once, like cracking open watermelons, and absorbed both their energies in one go.
Lyra didn’t feel drained from using Vital Flame, so she kept coating Wraithslayer with it like she had unlimited ammo. Each swing mowed down a swath of Wraiths, and she didn’t bother finishing the fallen ones; the ten souls swooped in and absorbed them.
Zoe stayed in the back, dutifully jotting down stats, how many miles the soul squad had advanced into the Sunvale Invasion Zone, an estimate of how many Wraiths they’d wiped out, and just how many more it would take for them to level up.
Soon, the battle was over, and the ground was littered with the remains of countless Wraiths.
The souls’ appearances visibly changed, their outlines grew brighter, and the fluctuations of their soul power became even
more intense.
Clara floated up to Lyra. “Lyra! I think I just leveled up! I can feel soul power way more clearly now.”
Lyra’s eyes sparkled as she quickly pulled out her card. “No way, Clara, you’re at C+ now! You just moved up half a tier!”
“Sweet!” Clara spun around, grinning. “If we wipe out a few more waves, I might actually hit B Tier today!”
Ivana drifted over as well. “I’m almost there, just need a little more.”
“Alright, let’s go all out and push for it! Charge!” Lyra said.
The group kept pushing forward, kill, absorb, advance, kill, absorly, advance, kill, absorb, and level up.
Once everyone had leveled up, Lyra pulled everyone to a stop.
“Alright, let’s head back and give Auntie and the ghost with the braids their second round,” Lyra said.
No one objected. The group doubled back, weaving through the outer ruins and the Wraith mist until they reached the Ghost Wall.
The ten souls lined up, channeling their soul power into Auntie, one after another. When it was Clara’s turn, she floated over to the ghost with the braids, just like before.

Chapter 173
She placed her palm on the top of the braided ghost’s head, sending her soul power in. The ghost’s outline became noticeably more solid.
That’s a huge change,” Jane said, staring at the ghost. “She’s solidifying almost twice as fast as last time.”
Lyra was watching too. Before, she could barely make out the ghost’s face, but now even the patterns on her braids were clear. The difference was obvious.
“Let’s go for another round,” Lyra said, getting to her feet. “Everyone, head out, take down another batch, top/off your energy, then come back and we’ll keep going.”
Zoe glanced at the time. “We’re running out of time, at most one more round, or it’ll get dark.”
“Alright, one more round and then we’re heading back,” Lyra said.
Zoe nodded.
For the third round of Wraith hunting, Lyra sent the souls ahead, they could float way faster than she and Zoe could run. Sure enough, the souls’ efficiency shot up again.
For the third time, they began channeling soul power.
Clara pressed her palm to the crown of the braided ghost’s head, letting her soul power flood in.
This time, all the souls gathered around.
The braided ghost’s outline grew more solid right before their eyes. Her freckles were clearly visible, her two braids hung over her shoulders, and even the red color of her braid ties stood out.
“Almost there,” Jane said, lowering her voice.
Clara kept channeling soul power into the ghost, while Lyra stood stock-still, watching every second without blinking.
Suddenly, the braided ghost’s finger twitched just a little.
“Jane! She, she…” Lyra blurted, pointing at the ghost’s finger, her voice shaking with excitement.
“I saw it!” Jane was just as hyped.
Clara felt it too, the soul beneath her palm was trembling, and this time it wasn’t from any outside force. The movement was coming from inside her.
“She’s waking up,” Clara said, glancing back at Lyra. “She’s coming back to herself.”
Lyra’s heart skipped a beat. “Clara, can you hold on?”
“I can,” Clara said through gritted teeth, pouring even more soul power into the ghost. She could feel her energy draining fast, exhaustion hitting her in waves, but she forced herself to keep going. Just a bit more, and she’d wake up.
“Everyone, all in!” Jane shouted, seeing Clara’s soul waver, she was almost at her limit, but they still had a bit left in the tank.
Hearing her, the other eight souls rushed to Clara’s side, channeling their soul power straight into her.
Clara finally caught her breath, steadied herself, and went all out, channeling every ounce of soul power she had into the braided ghost.
Lyra kept glancing back and forth between the braided ghost and the ten souls, keeping an eye on everyone’s condition.
Time passed slowly, and just as Lyra was about to tell the souls to stop, the braided ghost’s eyes twitched, then shifted twice,
