Chapter 80
Chapter 80
“Keep moving. Don’t stop,” Lyra said.
With that, she turned and walked out.
Sergei, carrying four bottles of water, paused. “Lyra, where are you going?”
“I’ll guard the gate,” Lyra replied.
“Guard what gate?” Sergei set the water bottles down. “This supermarket’s massive, and there’s so much stuff. Even if five countries show up, can’t everyone just grab their own and leave?”
Lyra stopped in her tracks. “We won’t be able to keep this up for much longer.”
Sergei frowned.
“The game never said how long the Treasure Chest Rain would last, but players from five countries are all heading this way What does that tell you?” Lyra asked.
She held up one finger. “It means the Treasure Chest Rain upstairs is almost over. Everyone who managed to grab a chest has already done it, and now they’re all looking for places to hide.”
She held up a second finger. “Once the Treasure Chest Rain ends, the mall will go quiet again. With nothing left to distract them, the cats will be on high alert.”
She held up a third finger. “If five more people show. up, that’s ten of us running around the basement, making all kinds of noise-footsteps, heavy breathing, stuff crashing. And those ten cats are no joke.”
Sergei shut his mouth.
Lina ended her call and chimed in. “Goddess Lyra is right. Command Center just told me the Treasure Chest Rain upstairs is almost over. The ones who grabbed chests are already hiding, and there are still twelve players tangled up with the cats.
“Twelve people won’t last long,” Lyra said, taking a couple steps toward the exit, “Once those twelve are taken out, the mall will go dead silent. Any noise we make down here will be magnified.”
Lydia dropped the bag of rice from her shoulder, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and said, “I’ll help you guard the gate.”
Lyra turned to look at her.
I’m strong. If it comes down to a fight, I can handle it,” Lydia said, giving her arm a pat.
“No,” Lyra said.
“Why not?” Lydia asked.
“If we start a fight with other players at the entrance, it’ll be way louder than just moving stuff,” Lyra said.
Lydia started to say something, but thought better of it and stayed quiet.
“That’s why I’m not planning to block them as a human, Lyra said, fishing a Transform Card out of her pocket.
Lily got it right away. “Goddess Lyra’s turning into a cat again!”
“Yep,” Lyra replied, spinning the card between her fingers. “A cat guarding the basement entrance works way better than a person standing there.”

Lydia stared at the card. “How many times can you still use that Transform Card?”
“Enough,” Lyra replied.
Lyra didn’t give a straight answer. She glanced at the four of them. “From now on, keep it quiet while moving things Step lightly, don’t run-just walk briskly.”
“And keep your emotions steady. Silver Whisper can sense any emotional spikes. If you get too excited or nervous, it’ll notice -even from upstairs.”
Lina nodded, took a couple deep breaths, and tried to steady her heartbeat.
“How much should we move before we stop?” Sergei asked.
“Keep moving until I come back and tell you to stop.” Lyra replied.
With that, the Transform Card in her hand flashed with a bright white light.
Her body shrank rapidly, bones cracking as her perspective dropped. Fur burst out from beneath her skin, thicker and longer than before. When her paws hit the ground, she stretched out into a shape a whole size bigger than Cowcat.
She had turned into a Maine Titan.
Lyra glanced down at her front paws-they looked much bigger than when she was Cowcat.
Lily crouched down, her eyes sparkling. “Don’t worry, Goddess Lyra! I’ll work extra hard!”
Lyra meowed at her, flicked her fluffy tail, and dashed out. Her paws barely made a sound as she ran, the long fur muffling
every step.
Once Goddess Lyra was gone, Lily turned and grabbed the supplies, heading straight for the container room.
Lina paused for a couple seconds. “Lydia, Sergei.”
“What’s up?” Lydia replied.
Lina spoke, her voice heavy with emotion. “Lyra’s out there, guarding the gate for us. She’s sitting outside as a cat, just to buy us more time.”
She squared her shoulders, looking at them with determination. “So, we can’t just take stuff for ourselves. I say we split what we carry-half goes into Draconia’s container.”
“Got it,” Lydia said without a second thought. She grabbed two bags of rice, marched straight to the container room, tossed one into Ursaria’s container, and stuffed the other right into Draconia’s.
“Agreed, Sergei said, following behind with the water bottles. Without a word, he dropped two into Belsoria’s container and two into Draconia’s.
Lily snickered, tiptoed over, and slid the salt into Draconia’s container. As the glow swallowed up the bag of salt, she muttered under her breath, “Goddess Lyra’s gonna be so happy when she comes back and sees all this extra stuff.”
The four of them kept their steps light, no more running-just quick, quiet walking. The only sounds in the supermarket were the soft rustle of clothes, the faint scuff of their shoes, and the quiet rhythm of their breathing.
Lina carried two baskets of veggies at a time, hugging them tight so no leaves would drop and hit the floor.
Lydia switched to carrying just one bag at a time, no more two bags-she didn’t want them hitting the ground and making a
racket.

Chapter 80
Sergei wrapped the glass bottles of seasoning in his jacket, carefully placing them into the container one by one-no more tossing.
Lily was small and couldn’t carry heavy things, so she stuffed handfuls of snack packs into her pockets. When they were full, she’d make a quick trip-not running, just fast little steps, hands over her pockets to muffle the chip bags.
They kept moving.
They were moving like their lives depended on it.
One trip.
Two trips.
Three trips.
The red-gold glow at the bottom of Draconia’s container was getting brighter and spinning faster, while the pale blue glow in Southern Reach’s container, which was almost gone, was now looking a bit stronger.
Over on the Draconia Live Channel, the chat was blowing up again.
momo: [Lina and the crew are actually splitting their supplies and putting half into Draconia’s container. I’m tearing up here.]
BornToCuss: [This is what a real alliance looks like! Not just talk, but action!]
AnotherDayAlive: [Goddess Lyra’s out there as a cat, guarding the gate, while the other four are working themselves to the bone inside. This scene really hits hard.]
LyraSuperfan: [I’m so moved but also scared. What if the cats catch them? Ten cats, that’s insane!]
NeverAteVeggies: [Stop talking, stop talking! Let me just watch in peace. I’m afraid if I say anything, I’ll jinx it.)
LuckyKoi: [I’m crying. Goddess Lyra’s out there all alone, holding the line just to buy everyone more time. Come on. sweetheart! Grab as much as you can!]
Nutrient GooSucks: [Thumbs up to the comment above! Lil Lily’s legs are shaking, but she’s still pushing forward. Your girl’s really giving it her all!]
The chat was all good vibes-everyone was cheering them on, praying for their safety, and worrying about what might happen next.
Suddenly, a swarm of foreign usernames poured into the chat, totally killing the vibe.
USaaa_007: [Why are your players hogging all the resources? Those supplies belong to us too!]
