Chapter 132 Hotel Staff Comes to Apologize
Rosalind, fearing Liana might be dieting, quickly added.
“Okay.”
Liana agreed, watching Rosalind closely. Seeing no sign of suspicion, she relaxed a little.
She didn’t notice Linda’s intense stare.
As the three women were chatting, the butler’s voice carried in from the hallway.
“Mr. Locke, you’re back.”
“Mm. Has everyone had dinner?”
“They finished long ago, but…”
The butler nervously eyed the small figure nestled in Elian’s arms.
Elian, however, appeared completely unperturbed, carrying Theo into the living room.
Immediately, Rosalind and Linda’s faces froze with tension.
Linda was the first to react. “Why did you bring him here?”

Liana already knew the elders had met Theo. So Linda’s anger, she assumed, stemmed from worry that she, Liana, would be upset.
She said softly, “Linda, you’ll frighten him. He’s running a fever.”
Linda was taken aback, not expecting Liana to show concern for Theo.
Elian carried Theo over. The boy was half-asleep but rubbed his eyes upon hearing Liana’s voice. Spotting her, he immediately shuffled toward her. “Ma’am…”
“Why is this kid so glued to Liana?” Rosalind mumbled in confusion.
“Probably because his mom and I share the same father,” Liana replied quietly, a note of resignation in her voice.
Hearing this, Rosalind shot a reproachful look at her grandson. “You shouldn’t have brought him here.”
“Liana won’t mind.”

Elian gazed thoughtfully at Liana, his expression confident and composed.
Liana met his eyes. “Who says I won’t mind?”
Both Linda and Rosalind tensed, their eyes darting to Liana.

But Liana suddenly remembered the elders’ plan for her to come tomorrow to make apple pies for her birthday party.
She asked, “How about inviting Theo’s mom to join us for dinner tomorrow night?”
“Absolutely not.”
Rosalind was the first to object.
Linda, however, held her tongue and watched Liana carefully, sensing she had an agenda.
She then glanced covertly at her son. Elian’s deep eyes, locked with Liana’s, held a flicker of sheepishness, though he was still smiling.
“Fine. Would you like me to make the call and invite her?” Elian asked, a smile playing on his lips.
“That would be perfect,” Liana said.
She genuinely meant it.
Perhaps if the elders saw how much Elian and Anya loved each other, they wouldn’t be so reluctant to let her leave him.
But when Elian actually pulled out his phone to call immediately, Linda intervened with a firm tone, “Elian.”
“My wife simply wants to invite her half-sister for a meal. No big deal,” Elian stated, already dialing Anya’s number.
At that moment, the butler re-entered the room. Seeing Elian on the phone, he hesitated to speak.
“Elian!”
Anya answered the call, barely containing her excitement.
“Anya, tomorrow is my wife’s birthday. You’re invited to the house to celebrate.”
Elian delivered the invitation while watching Liana’s face.

But Liana’s face barely showed any emotion. Disappointed, he stood and headed upstairs, still on the call.
Theo, nestled against Liana’s leg, stayed put even after Elian left, feeling secure.
Liana instructed a nearby maid, “Please prepare something light for Theo to eat.”
“Right away, Mrs. Locke.”
The maid hurried off.
The butler stepped forward. “Mrs. Locke, a staff member from FS Hotel in Coalton is here asking to see you.”
Liana was puzzled. “Are they sure they have the right person?”
“All I know is he served Mr. Locke’s suite. He looks pretty anxious,” the butler explained, equally confused.
“Perhaps this staff member is looking for the other Mrs. Locke?” Liana responded calmly.
The butler was completely flabbergasted.
Rosalind and Linda also stared at Liana, bewildered.
