But when she looked around, she suddenly realized there was nowhere good to hide.

Right as the sound of running water from the adjoining bathroom stopped, she dropped to her knees and shoved the ultrasound report deep under the bed with all her might.
Elian returned to the bedroom doorway, a towel wrapped around his waist, just in time to see that.
Baffled, he crossed his arms and frowned. “What are you doing?”
Liana was on all fours, hands on the floor. She stared at him for several seconds, her eyelashes fluttering.
She had to snap back to reality. He was barely dressed-and walking straight toward her.
As he approached, Liana scrambled to her feet. A wave of dizziness hit her, and she almost pitched forward.
Elian’s hand shot out to steady her. “Since when are you so clumsy? That’s not like the composed Ms. Keane I know.”
Once she regained her balance, Liana pushed his hand away-it was still damp from his shower.
I should just go iron the clothes.
Forget the whole divorce thing. Forget right or wrong.
Him showing up at her place dressed like that? It was just…
“Ms. Keane?”
Elian didn’t let go. Instead, he leaned in, studying her face intently.
“I… I’ll go iron your clothes,” Liana said, flustered.
“Hmm.”
Elian thought for a second, then released her.
The moment she was free, she bolted from the room like a mouse escaping a cat.
Elian glanced at the bed, now covered with his clothes. A satisfied smirk touched his lips as he sat down on the edge.
Liana was already diligently steaming his shirt in the living room. The apartment was small; from where he sat, he had a clear view of her. A strange sense of calm settled over him.
Every moment with her had always felt precious.
From their school days to his proposal, it might have seemed understated on the surface.
But inside, each step had sent tidal waves through him.
So, when Liana finally realized she was being led by the nose, and that it was nearly ten-way too late for a standard business dinner, meaning this was likely all a setup…
“Elian, what are you doing?”

Chapter 175 Under the Bed
Her body was suddenly lifted into the air. Instinctively, her arms flew around his neck.
The cry was torn from her.
“It’s been too long since I’ve connected with my wife.”
His voice was low, determined. He carried her to the bed, now strewn with his clothes.
For that one second, he felt utterly, completely satisfied
He wanted to press her down into a space marked entirely by his presence.
As if that could prove she was still his. Only his.

This time, he didn’t just drop her onto the mattress. He cradled the back of her neck as he lay her down, following her immediately, his body covering hers.
“Why are you still wearing a jacket at home?” he murmured against her lips, helping her pull one sleeve free while kissing her.
The moment his lips touched hers, Liana’s heart hammered against her ribs. She turned her face away, her arm refusing to cooperate and slip out of the sleeve. “Ge up.
“Liana, I missed you.”

He gave up on the sleeve. As she turned her head, his lips found her earlobe, then trailed down the side of her neck.
Unable to push him off, Liana strained her neck away until the skin there flushed red.
Elian glanced at the blush, then hooked his hand behind her neck and pushed himself up onto his knees.
Liana’s hand flew up, immediately meeting the solid warmth of his bare chest, and she yanked it back just as
fast.
Seeing her face burn scarlet, Elian knew what had flustered her. The towel around his waist had loosened when he’d pressed her into the bed; his movement had exposed him.
He used the moment to move off her completely, sitting beside her to swiftly pull her jacket off.
The ease with which he removed it reminded her of how the designer had done the same thing that afternoon. Fresh irritation flared, but before she could escape, she was pinned down again.
This time, she felt the solid weight of his abs pressing into her soft frame.
“Get off! You liar, you fraud!”
The realization that he’d probably lied about everything tonight made her want to kick him away.
But her legs were parted, and when she tried to shove at his chest, her wrists were caught in one of his hands and pinned above her head.
Yeah, no more fighting.
It felt like being strapped to an operating table, forced to watch the surgeon pick up a scalpel.
