Chapter 234 Seeking Shelter
Liana stood there, half-in, half-out of the gown, utterly humiliated.
Anya thought Elian’s act of destruction was perfect. Liana had been thoroughly shamed, her veil literally torn from her by him in front of everyone.
She paid Liana no further mind, turning instead to follow Elian.
Nathan, Xander, and the others hadn’t entered the office. They didn’t know what had happened, but they could tell from Elian’s aura as he stormed out that something was very wrong. They moved to intercept him. “Leaving?”
“Need a smoke,” Elian ground out, stopping but not looking at them.

area, Anya moved to follow. Jett stopped her. “Don’t go near the smoke.
Anya paused, looking at him. “If I were the bride in three days, I’d keep it,” she said.
Jett forgot to stop her. She lifted her dress and ran after Elian.
Liana changed back into her own clothes and came downstairs. She saw Xander and Nathan standing in the lobby. Remembering their earlier help, she approached them. “Mr. Sage, Mr. Chase. I’m heading out now. Thank you again for earlier.”
“No need to be polite with us. I’ll see you out,” Xander said.
Liana was taken aback, but Xander was already gesturing for her to proceed, his hand hovering protectively near her back.
She followed, instinctively trusting their earlier kindness.
The moment they stepped outside, she saw him-the man who had threatened her with a knife. Her breath hitched.
The man gave her a cold glance before nodding respectfully to Xander. “Mr. Sage.”
Xander ignored him. A black sedan pulled up, and he opened the rear door. “Ms. Keane.”
Not daring to hesitate, Liana quickly slid inside. And there, already seated, was Elian.
He was scowling at a document in his hands, ignoring her completely, yet his presence filled the car with an intense pressure.
She instinctively looked back outside. The man was still standing there, watching. There was no way she was getting out now.
So…
For the moment, she had to seek shelter in Elian’s car, under his protection.
Elian suddenly said, “Get out.”
He shot her a look of pure contempt before turning to sare out her window.
“Fine.”
Seeing his disgust, she didn’t argue.
Nathan and Xander are right there. That man won’t do anything with them around.
But the moment she moved to open the door, his hand hot out, grasping her wrist.
The door was already locked. He pulled her back into the seat, his voice low and demanding. “That piece of trash threatened you? How?”
He’d seen the fear in her eyes the moment she spotted Anya’s lackey outside.
