His Hidden Family My Ruined Marriage (Liana) novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235 What’s He Done to You All?

Liana felt a lot more at ease once Elian got out of the car and started chatting with Lucas.

“What’s he done to us? Let me be straight with you. These days, he’s either snapping at someone or blowing up at another. Nothing pleases him. Like just now-I simply agreed to drop you off, and he jumped down my throat. We’re all on edge, waiting for the next explosion.”

Lucas couldn’t help venting a bit more.

“He does have a terrible temper,” Liana agreed, watching the familiar streets of her childhood neighborhood pass by. Suddenly, she didn’t cling to anything anymore

“Not always. Before all this divorce business, he was actually quite reasonable.”

Lucas suddenly felt something off, but he didn’t catch that he was saying too much.

Liana didn’t know how to respond. She offered an awkward smile.

He was just good at hiding it, playing the perfect husband while keeping so many secrets.

He never introduced me to his real friends, never trusted me with the big things, and even after Theo was discovered, he couldn’t bring himself to be honest.

Hmph. Bottom line-he’s always treated me like I’m outside his world.

A hard knot of resentment sat in her chest. It wasn’t overwhelming, just… persistent. About the size of his prominent Adam’s apple, maybe.

Her phone rang, pulling her from her gloomy thoughts.

An unknown number.

But something told her it was someone connected, so she picked up.

“Hello?”

“It’s me. Lawrence.”

He stated his name like it was nothing.

“What can I do for you?” she asked, her tone even. Her free hand, resting on her lap, clenched tightly.

“Your grandpa is ill. Regardless of the past, as a member of the younger generation, you should visit him. Don’t you think?”

He spoke patiently, as if instructing a child.

“I’m a Keane. What grandpa do I have?” Liana replied coolly and hung up.

He’s supposedly on a heavy business trip out of state, yet he finds time to order me around.

Yet, by midday, she found herself at the hospital anyway-but for a different reason.

Chloe’s husband had stormed into Summit High, and the confrontation had turned violent. Chloe was left coughing up blood.

By the time Liana arrived, Lily and Quentin were already there. Chloe lay on the hospital bed, her face pale and bruised.

Harriet drew Liana aside, her tone syrupy. “Liana, darling. I know we have wronged you. But we are family. You’re still young. Whatever you need in the future, I promise, I’ll help you.”

“Even if I refuse to donate part of my liver to Grandpa? You’d still help me?” Liana countered.

Harriet faltered but recovered quickly. “Of course! But Liana, you should help your grandpa. He’s the backbone of the Forrest family.”

“You’ve forgotten again. I’m a Keane. When I went to the Forrest Villa as a child, your husband called me a bastard. He chased me out with a stick and said he’d bea me if he ever saw me again.”

“W-we didn’t know it was you then!”

“The time you and your husband came to my school, you admitted then that you’d known who I was all along. Remember?” Liana’s voice was cold steel.

“Well… my memory isn’t what it used to be. Liana, at least come upstairs and see him. He’s been filled with

remorse since falling ill. He wants to see you.” Harriet switched tactics, her voice coaxing.

“If he’s truly remorseful, he can gather a crowd another lay and apologize to me publicly.”

With that, Liana turned to leave.

Harriet didn’t dare make a scene with Lily and the others waiting nearby. But one of her attendants immediately stepped in front of Liana, blocking her path.

Liana fixed him with an icy stare. “Move.”
