His Hidden Family My Ruined Marriage (Liana) novel Chapter 244

Chapter 244 Lawrence’s Visit to Apologize

“Just do it. Send the address to Liana by this evening. Don’t let her think I can’t bear to let her go.”

He reached for the coffee pot, found it empty, and glanded irritably at the full cup she’d left untouched.

“Yes, sir.”

Evan didn’t dare argue further, though his mind reeled with questions.

He was currently standing in the grand ballroom of the hotel, overseeing the setup for his boss’ lavish wedding tomorrow.

And just yesterday, on Elian’s orders, he’d been the one who bought out the apartment Liana had intended to rent.

What new whim is this? But he knew better than to question it.

As Evan got to work, Elian leaned back on the sofa, cup n hand, lost in memories.

From the day they married, they had been a team, supporting each other. He never imagined Liana would ask for a divorce. Even with the secret of Theo, he thought they could work through it..

She hadn’t given him a chance. A single word “baby” over the phone, and she’d sentenced him, packing her bags and demanding a divorce as if he’d cheated on their marriage.

The more he thought about it, the more it angered him

He’d considered them both mature, the type to think things through carefully. How had it come to this?

They used to share meals, sleep side by side, and discuss everything. When did she become so childish, so… unreasonable?

Especially just now-she asked him to find her an apartment abroad, as if to underscore the finality of their split. A cold, grey despair settled in his stomach.

But Liana’s request wasn’t just a reminder. She genuinely couldn’t find a place that quickly on her own.

How much would a hotel cost?

At her stage in life, she had to be frugal.

By the time she returned to Roy’s house, several cars were already there. She watched people putting up decorations, creating a wedding vibe, and said nothing.

Roy was visibly displeased when she walked in.

Thinking he was upset about the wedding preparations she hurried over. “Roy, I’m sorry to disrupt your peace. It’s just for one day.”

“Your dad is here. And that vicious stepmother of yours he said.

He knew Liana wouldn’t welcome him. Just like her mother, who refused to see him after the divorce.

He was despicable, he knew. He’d abandoned his pregnant wife for his career.

If given the choice again, would he do the same? Yes. He had been unwilling to remain a pawn.

“If she won’t come to me, I’ll go to her. A father who messes up should apologize too,” Lawrence said, rising to his feet.

Helena’s mind went blank. Her husband, the esteemed Mayor, was going to apologize?

“You come too,” he added, turning to her. “You shouldn’t have pressured Liana about the liver transplant for

Dad.”

“I…”

Helena felt her temper flare, her blood pressure spiking. But she swallowed her rage.

If I cause a scene now, and if what’s planned for tonight goes wrong, Lawrence would be furious.

Yes. Tonight, before dawn, she would ensure Liana was no longer a problem.
