“Liana, dear.”
It was Rosalind and Linda. They were already seated inside.
Liana lowered her gaze, saw who was there, and by the time she came to, she was in the car.
The three of them sat comfortably with plenty of room, but Liana felt tense.
“Roy said you lost a lot of blood from the miscarriage. Your body needs careful nurturing to recover,” Rosalind said, her voice full of gentle concern.
Liana’s eyes flickered with quick doubt.
That retired traditional doctor is a quack?
That day, after he checked her pulse, she’d been trembling, convinced she was about to be exposed.
And this was his diagnosis?
Liana secretly breathed a sigh of relief as the car pulled up in front of an elegant, upscale boutique.
“Come along. We’ve arranged for you to get ready here, Linda said.
Liana didn’t ask questions. Once in this car, she was at the elders’ mercy.
“Black really shows off the figure, but here it’s a bit small-almost like there’s nothing there,” Rosalind mused thoughtfully after Liana had changed into a sleek evening gown.
“Grandma!”
“Rosalind, a little padding will fix that,” Linda and Liana both blushed slightly as Rosalind gestured vaguely
towards Liana’s chest.
Rosalind wasn’t the least bit flustered. She chuckled, “It’ll fill out nicely once your health is restored and you have a baby.”
Hearing this, Liana suddenly remembered that the marriage certificate was still with Linda. She instinctively glanced at her.
Linda, sensing her thoughts immediately, patted her gown. “My phone. I think I left it in the car. I’ll go
check.”
Liana requested a natural, understated makeup look. Her blonde hair was swept up into an elegant chignon, highlighting her delicate features and long neck.
Soon, an attendant brought over a jewelry set featuring an exceptionally large sapphire surrounded by brilliant diamonds.
“This was your grandfather’s and my wedding gift to Linda. Now it’s passed on to you,” Rosalind said softly, standing behind Liana as she admired her in the mirror
Liana, seated before the vanity, stood up the moment she saw the set. “Grandma, this is far too precious.”
“You know our family’s background. No matter how precious the jewels, they’re still not as precious as you. Wear it with confidence. Let the Forrests see tonight just how treasured you are in our family. Let’s see who

“But Grandma, the sapphire is bigger than an egg,” Lian whispered nervously, eyeing the necklace.
“You don’t like it big? Linda said the same thing at first. But she grew to adore it,” Rosalind said with a wink.
The young women assisting with hair and makeup nearby couldn’t help but blush.
“Rosalind, what nonsense are you filling Liana’s head with now?” Linda chided lightly as she re-entered the
room.

Chapter 99 I Slept With Anya Last Night
Linda, returning from the car, had heard Rosalind’s comment. She was a bit mortified.

But their Rosalind could turn proper words downright dirty and still think she was right. Correcting her was
a lost cause.
“I wasn’t talking about a man’s thing. And even if I was-don’t you like it big?” Rosalind asked, seeing the flustered looks on the young stylists’ faces and doubling down.
Liana’s face was burning, but she couldn’t help the sudden urge to laugh.
Soon, the driver came in to hurry them along. “Mr. Locke’s waiting for Mrs. Liana Locke.”
There weren’t many cars parked outside the Forrest Vill, but a sizable crowd had gathered on the front
steps.
The arrival of Elian’s Rolls-Royce immediately drew all eyes.
Many of Lawrence’s old friends had already left. The remaining guests were mostly Anya’s childhood circle.
Jett was there. So was Xander. Even Nathan had tagged along due to his connections.
Elian was the center of attention, surrounded by Anya’s coterie of “best friends.”
Anya had spent her early years with her maternal grandparents, attending middle and high school elsewhere, effectively separated from Elian’s group for six years.
They only reconnected during university abroad. Yet, she always introduced him as her childhood sweetheart.
Anya stood beside him now in a strapless lavender-pink cocktail dress. Their heights and builds complemented each other perfectly.
The group was chatting casually when Elian’s personal car slowly approached. All heads turned.
At the same moment, Anya shivered delicately. “It’s so chilly tonight, Elian. Could I possibly borrow your jacket?”
Instantly, the attention of the entire group zeroed in on Anya and Elian.
Liana, on the other hand, was decked out from head to toe by Rosalind and Linda. She held a classic Chanel flap bag, its chain looped casually around her slender wrist. She seemed at ease, clutching the bag lightly.
She had been nervous the whole ride over.
But the moment Elian put his jacket on Anya, she relaxed in a strange way.
What do I have left to lose? I’m already at rock bottom. Why should I be nervous?
The ones who should be nervous were the people here. They’d better watch out, or she might just bring this whole birthday party crashing down around them.
Her mother had been Lawrence’s lawfully wedded wife. He’d divorced her while she was pregnant with Liana. Liana had nothing to be ashamed of.
