His Last Command Came Back to Kill Him novel Chapter 112

Whitley froze.

The Vance Group was an absolute titan in the medical and precision equipment sector. Their summit was exclusive, and getting a spot meant stepping onto the biggest stage in the industry.

She looked at Chisholm, at a loss for words. "Seriously... thank you."

Though Chisholm came from a massive family empire, he operated independently. Doing this meant tying PurePath Biologics directly to the Vance Group's reputation. She had no idea how he had justified this to his family, especially since the plagiarism scandal centered around her.

All she could do now was clear her name flawlessly.

"Alright, eat your lunch," Chisholm smiled. "If you thank me one more time, I'm revoking the invitation."

Whitley spent every spare second preparing for the summit. She compiled the project timelines, raw experimental logs, and data version archives into a comprehensive portfolio.

When Zinnia Kensington found out, she immediately transferred a large sum of money to Whitley. She insisted Whitley buy a high-end outfit so no one could look down on her.

While they were out shopping, Zinnia glanced at her phone and scoffed. "Well, this is hilarious. Someone just hit a brick wall."

Whitley looked up.

"Yelena tried to pull strings to get an invite to the Vance summit, and Chisholm shot her down flat," Zinnia smirked. "He's definitely making a point for you."

Whitley remained indifferent. "If she really wants to go, it’s not impossible."

Zinnia raised an eyebrow. "You actually want her there?"

"The summit is a public platform," Whitley said coolly. "If she's there, I can confront her to her face. It saves her the trouble of playing the victim behind my back."

On the other side of town, Yelena’s face was twisted in fury. She knew perfectly well that she hadn't been rejected for a lack of qualifications; Chisholm was just getting back at her for Whitley's sake.

She immediately dialed Clive, her voice dripping with aggrieved innocence. "Clive... I really wanted to attend the Vance summit to learn, but they blocked me at the door just because of Whitley..."

There was a brief silence on the other end before Clive’s deep voice responded, "I understand. I'll handle it."

Too exhausted to argue, she said dismissively, "If she wants to go, she can go. I'll tell Chisholm to let her in."

Clive seemed surprised by how easily she folded.

Whitley stared at him. "Are you going?"

She couldn't fathom how he could so blatantly favor another woman while still married to her.

Clive didn't answer.

Whitley scoffed and turned to head upstairs.

His calm gaze fixed on her. "I heard you were ambushed outside your office today."

Whitley paused. The video of her getting pelted with rotten eggs was already trending online.
