His Last Command Came Back to Kill Him novel Chapter 113

She hadn't checked the internet all day.

"How are you holding up?" he asked.

Whitley couldn't tell if this was genuine concern or some twisted power play. She looked at him coldly. "What does it matter to you?"

"You are my wife," Clive said, his tone devoid of warmth. "Your public image reflects on me."

Whitley almost laughed. Now he remembered she was his wife?

"We're getting a divorce. Why do you care?"

Clive’s expression remained unchanged. "Sign the manufacturing deal with Marmont Pharmaceuticals. Put an end to this mess before it causes any more unnecessary damage."

Whitley sneered. For a second, she actually thought he cared about the cyberbullying or the eggs thrown at her.

He was as cold-blooded as ever.

"Your company is short on equipment, isn't it? I can have my suppliers deliver a full set tomorrow. Just sign the contract."

His words felt like a slap to the face. Just to give Yelena a legitimate excuse to steal her research, he was willing to casually hand over top-tier lab equipment. Once they signed that deal, PurePath Biologics would lose all its autonomy.

In the past, she had dropped countless hints, hoping he would offer just a fraction of support for her brother's company. Clive had always played deaf. But for Yelena, he was limitlessly generous.

This wasn't a negotiation. He knew she was backed into a corner and expected her to obediently nod along.

And with her current situation, she didn't have the luxury of pride. Her lab's equipment was outdated, the precision was failing, and the project was stalling. Every day they delayed was another step toward bankruptcy.

Seeing her silence, Clive added smoothly, "A complete set of imported precision instruments. They can be delivered tomorrow."

Clive studied her, his face an unreadable mask, before giving a slight nod. "Acceptable."

Whitley smirked. "I hope you and Yelena enjoy the summit."

"I will," Clive replied.

Without another word, he turned and walked into his study.

Whitley watched his back, a bitter smile playing on her lips. At the summit, she was going to expose the plagiarism for the world to see. She couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces.

And as for the contract? Once the truth was out, there would be no need to sign it. Playing Clive like this brought her a twisted sense of satisfaction.

After all, he was the one who offered the equipment. Yelena was going to pay the price for taking shortcuts, and it was time she was dragged down from her pedestal.
