Austin POV
Pregnant.

Rebel’s pregnant.
I’m going to be a dad.
Dread comes over me when I realize she was fighting, while pregnant. A warrior gashed her back. That fucker Kaden was throwing her around the cave and was sitting on her stomach. FUCK!
I run my hands through my hair and take a deep breath. I know everyone is looking at me, but I can’t get out of my head enough to look at them. She could have died and our pup along with her. The amount of guilt and anger building up in my chest is weighing on me heavy.
Then I hear Renz, “Fuck, Austin. Can you dial it back? Your aura is affecting everyone here.”
That snaps me out of my thoughts. “I… I’m sorry.”
My mother holds my hand. “What’s on your mind, Austin?”
“Any later and she could have died. Her and our pup, mom. I swear I didn’t know she was pregnant or I would never have let her fight.” I say.
Reid interrupts my thoughts, “Austin, do you think I would have let her, if I had known? Rebel is strong. She is alive and your pup is alive. Hold on to that, because it’s the most important thing you will do.”
Renz and Jessup slap my shoulders. “Even though Rebel is still unconscious, there is a congratulations to be given Alpha.”
Lacey and Jane are looking at me with a smile. “We are going to have a pup running around in no time Alpha. You shouldn’t beat yourself up. This is a cause for a celebration. As soon as Rebel is better, we should throw a party!”
Slowly, I’m pulling out of my dark mood. It’s being replaced by happiness. I’m still concerned for Rebel and I’m not leaving her side, but I am happy. “She is going to be on bed rest. We will have a party to celebrate when she is better, but it needs to be gentle for Rebel and the pup’s health. “Shit! I need to get a nursery ready. I don’t know the first thing about doing that!” I start to feel myself panic when all the women in the group start laughing.
“Austin,” my mother laughs, “There are four women standing right here. We will help get everything ready.”
I see Dr. Hadley come back around. “Rebel is stable and resting. Would you like to go in and stay with her, Alpha?”
“Yes. Please.” I say quickly. I look over at everyone and say goodbye. I turn to Renz and Jessup. “I need the Luna Guard here now. Have guards put around the building. I want my Luna and pup protected at all times.”
Renz and Jessup smile, “Already done. The Luna Guard is on their way too.”
I shake my head, “Thank you guys. I really appreciate it.”

I follow Dr. Hadley to Rebel’s room. When I enter, I growl lowly. She is hooked up to machines and her face is still bruised. I want to kill that fucker all over again.
‘Get your anger under control and focus on our mate and pup!’ Cronos barks at me. He’s right of course. I reign in my temper and pull a chair up beside Rebel and grab her hand.
I start rubbing small circles with my thumb and bring her hand to my lips. I kiss the back of her hand gently. ” I’m the happiest man alive and the most terrified man alive, darling. Only you could do that to me.” I chuckle lightly.
Over the past month, my life has been turned upside down by this amazing woman. Even while she lays in this bed unconscious, she is still turning my world on its head. “You get better, darling. I love you and I will be right here when you wake up.”

Rebel POV
‘Rebs. Wake up already.’ I hear my wolf. I feel groggy but I’m in the dark.
‘Roxie, what’s going on? Why is it so dark?’ I ask.
‘It’s dark because your eyes are closed.’ She said flatly.
I open my eyes and the light is blinding. I shut my eyes again and let out a small groan. At the same time I hear someone calling my name.
“Rebel. Darling? It’s me. Open your eyes baby.”
I hear Austin. He came for me. He made it. I keep blinking my eyes and I see I’m in a stark white room. It’s bright and my eyes squint again. “Austin?” I croak. Man, my throat is dry.
I feel Austin kiss my forehead and I inhale his scent. “Darling, you’ve had me so worried.”
“Water?” I croak out.
“Shit. Yeah, hold on.” I hear him open a bottle of water.
“Here is the straw baby. Slow sips.” He said.
