Chapter 122
Rebel POV
I wake up after another three hours. You would think I would be wide awake after being unconscious for three days, but I feel exhausted. ‘Roxie, are you okay?’
‘I’m tired Rebs. We were in bad shape. Plus, I’m pretty busy at the moment.’
‘Busy?’
‘You’ll find out, soon.’ She responds and I feel her curl back up in the back of my mind. What am I finding out about soon? I try to move, but I notice a large arm draped over my hip and a hand on my belly.
I snuggle closer and inhale the salted citrus and driftwood scent I’ve come to love so much. I feel Austin tighten his grip on me.
“Did you sleep well, little mate?” He says in his own sleepy voice.
“Mmmm…always with you. Although, I would prefer if we were in our own bed.” I say as I wiggle my butt against him.
I hear him groan, “Darling, don’t tempt me with that perfect ass of yours. I’m desperate to be inside you right now, and you still recovering.”
I huff. “Fine. Seriously though, when can we leave here? I like Dr. Hadley and all, but our bed is more comfortable.”
“Hopefully, she will clear you and we can leave today. Believe me, I want you in our bed too, darling.” He says, with his eyes still closed and kissing my temple. He is still tired, but it doesn’t look like he is going to get much more sleep, because there is a knock at the door.
“Alpha, Luna, are you awake?” Dr. Hadley peaks in the door.
“Yes, come in doctor.” Austin says, before I have a chance to send her away so he can continue sleeping.
She turns on the lights to full power and walks in and she looks like a ray of sunshine, meanwhile I feel like I could go back to bed. Seriously, why am I so tired?
“How are you feeling, Luna?” She asks.
“I still feel a little nauseous, but not as bad as earlier. I am exhausted though.” I respond.
“That’s to be expected.” She says while looking over my chart and reading the monitors, “Luna, the knife wound nicked an artery and your spleen. If you would have gotten here any later, you might not have made it. It’s a miracle you are recovering so well.”
“Why didn’t my wolf heal me? We are not affected by silver. We realized that while we were in the cave. The silver rope wasn’t hurting us at all. The knife that Kaden used was silver.” I said. Idly, I hear a low growl from Austin at the mention of Kaden.
“Luna,” Dr. Hadley smiles gently at me, “You are pregnant and Roxie was probably protecting your pup and couldn’t heal you immediately.”

Pregnant. I’m pregnant? Wait. When did that happen?
“Dr. Hadley, say what?” I say as Austin wraps his arms around me from behind and kisses my neck.
“You’re pregnant, darling.” He said and I could feel him smiling in my neck.
“You’re sure, I’m pregnant?” I say. I’m starting to feel excitement bubble up inside me.
“Very sure, Luna,” she says as she finishes going through all of the machines and charts. “In fact, after a physical examination, I would like to perform an ultrasound and see if we can see your pup or at least hear a heartbeat. I don’t suspect you are too far a long or Alpha would have noticed a change in your scent.”
