Rebel POV 1

I saw Austin fall through the portal. My heart tightened. I’m glad he is here and alive, but I’m also aware of what this means. It means Morgana has us trapped.

“Austin!” I call.

“REBEL!” He calls back, reaching for the bars.

“Don’t touch the bars. They are laced with silver. Are you okay?”

“Yeah. She got me while I was searching for you. The guards that saw Liora enter the house and disappear lead us to the location, but there was no house. I have no way of contacting them via mind link either. Not when we are surrounded by silver.” He says.

“The house is gone? How is that possible?”

“I don’t know. We were waiting for Liora to show up. But I fell through the portal before she showed up. I hope she will cooperate with Reid and Stefan. Otherwise, we are going to be here for a while.”

I want to mind link him. See if he can still hear me. ‘Austin, if you can hear me just nod.’

Austin’s eyes go wide and he nods. Perfect, that means I can still talk to him through anything. ‘I know you can’t mind link me. So just listen; in a rush to get dressed, I wore the same pants from earlier. I had the potion in my pants, but not the aerosol. I put it on my bars. If Morgana touches it, she will get it on herself, and her magic will die out again.’

Just then we hear laughing. Crazed laughing and Morgana comes into the room and wraps her hand around the bars of my cell and starts taunting me.

‘Play along. Don’t let her suspect anything.’ I tell Austin. He looks at me, and I know he is acknowledging me.

We let her have her fun. But I will get the last laugh. Not only will her magic be suppressed, but she doesn’t know I’m not affected by silver. It’s only a matter of time before I get my hands on her, and when I do, she’s fucking

dead.

After she walks off, laughing once again, I smile at Austin. ‘I don’t think she will be too happy when she finds out she doesn’t have her magic.’

Then Austin asks, “How are you?” I don’t miss the way he looks at my stomach.

“I’m fine.” I say.

‘We both are fine. Roxie is protecting her and still wanting to jump your bones. She’s such a hussy.’

He smiles and it helps to lighten the mood. “Soon she will get what she wants.”

I laugh. “Just insatiable.”

‘A lot of this is going to fall on me, Austin. You have to trust me. The strongest of the two of us right now is me. The longer you are here, the more weakened the silver will make you. I’m betting that’s why Morgana isn’t acting on her plan right now.’

Austin nods, but his eyes give him away. He’s worried about me, too. About our baby. There isn’t anything I’m going to be able to say right now that is going to help him relax. Until the threat of Morgana is gone, he will be on edge.

Reid POV

Austin went through the portal. It means that Morgana has both of them. I shouldn’t have walked away from him. She waited until both of them were alone to take them separately. I was too busy in my guilt to think clearly. I won’t let Morgana take my family from me; and Austin and Rebel are family.
