His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 209

Chapter 209

Rebel POV

I watch the guards carry my mate out of the tunnel system. It’s long and barely lit. Austin is injured terribly and he is fading, Roxie is pacing in my head because she can’t feel Cronos, even though we are out of the cells. “We need to get him to the pack hospital to be treated.” The edge in my voice betraying my calm demeanor.

Austin is strong and fearless. He was injured because of me. It should have been me fighting those rogues and Morgana. It should have been me protecting him this time. My nerves are frayed, thinking that something could happen to my love, my Alpha, the father of my pups. I can’t bear it as I look at him drifting in and out of

consciousness.

Somewhere in the distance I hear Morgana screaming and taunting me, “I’m not done with you, Rebel! I will destroy every bit of your happy little family.”

Finally, I snap. “Get Austin out of here. I will catch up.”

I run back towards Morgana and she is cackling. “Oh did, I make you cry?”

CRACK!

I punched her straight in the face and broke her nose. As blood is gushing down, I extend my claws. Ready to finish this bitch once and for all, when I hear my grandpa.

“Rebel! Don’t! Let her face justice. Let her rot in the cells. Don’t dirty your hands with her. She wants death because she doesn’t want to live in confinement. She knows that’s what awaits her!” He pleads as he is holding me back

“Grandpa, she deserves a slow and agonizing death! She deserves to be filleted. I want to skin her alive! She has done irreparable damage to our family. She is responsible for my mother and father’s death. She is responsible for the abuse I endured for years at the hands of my uncle. She is responsible for me being kidnapped and almost raped by Kaden and him forcing his mark on me. She is responsible for Austin’s current condition. For what!? Because you dumped her! She was so fucking caught up in her revenge, rather than moving on with her life and finding someone else to love her. She plotted decades of revenge and has killed countless people because you hurt her pride! I want her dead! It’s the only way to ensure she doesn’t hurt anyone else in our family every again!”

“Rebel, my dear child, I understand. I truly do. But death is too easy for her. She should live with her torment in the darkness and depths of a dungeon cell until the day she dies. She should spend the remainder of her life in agony that she was a complete failure in her revenge. Death is too easy for her. If you want to torture her, if you want her to pay, then let her rot and be forgotten until her the stench of her corpse alerts the council guards that she is dead.” He said, looking at Morgana. Clearly, he has been thinking about how to make her suffer. He wants it to be prolonged and isolated. Letting her drown in regret of her decisions and knowing that she still failed would torment her. He is right. Death would be too easy then.

I pulled away, my eyes pricked with tears, “Fine. You better make sure she is secured in that cell for the rest of her miserable existence then, grandpa. I want her taunted and tortured, the way she did to us! I want her to relieve every failure. I don’t want her to have a moment of peace.” I said with a vicious calm that made Morgana’s eyes widen with fear.

“NO! Rebel, I swear I will kill you!” She screamed as I started walking away.

“Like you said, Morgana; you and what army?”

With that, my grandpa and I walk to the exit of the tunnel system. I need to get to my mate. He is everything right now. If anything happens to him, I don’t care about her torment. I will bleed her dry, skin her alive, and feed her corpse to the feral wolves of the pack. There will be no trace of her left.

We finally exited the tunnel system and I’m in an old house. In front of me is a door, wide open, leading to the outside.

‘Our mates need us, Rebel. Please go to him.”

I hear the emotion in Roxie’s voice, and I know it’s serious. “Grandpa, I’m going ahead. Austin needs me.”

I don’t even wait for his acknowledgement. I take off running and see an ambulance and my mate, pale and on a stretcher. The EMTs are trying to load him into the back of the ambulance. My heart clenches. No! I’m not losing my mate!

“AUSTIN! My love! Open your eyes, baby. Please! You can’t leave me. You are not allowed to leave me! Not you!” I say with tears coming down my face. I kiss his lips, and his skin is cold.

The EMT looks at me, “Luna, the liquid silver was concentrated: His skin absorbed it. He needs the hospital right now or he may not make it.” He says quietly but with urgency.

No. No. NO! NO! He is going to make it. He is my rock. My pillar. My Alpha. My love. My everything. He can’t die.

“Then let’s go, now!”

They start loading him into the ambulance, and I hear a shriek. When I turn around, I see Morgana coming towards me with a shiv. Where the hell did that come from? Did the silver weaken the guards enough for her to break away from them? My mind is so wrapped up in Austin that my brain is slow to react.

“DIE YOU FUCKING BITCH!” Morgana screams at me.

As she is ready to leap on me and plunge that shiv into me, out of nowhere, another wolf jumps in front of me, gashing Morgana’s face. I fall back and the wolf that jumped in front of me shifts back into human form.

“GRANDPA! NO!” It’s my grandpa and the shiv is in his side. He is howling in pain.

I rush to his side and the EMTs stop and come to his aid. But he pushes them away, “Save my granddaughter’s mate. I’ll be fine.” He said grunting in pain. I see him fading as well.

“How long to get another ambulance here?” I asked frantically.

“Five minutes out. I’m staying and the other EMT is taking your mate to the hospital. I will do everything I can, Luna.” The EMT says.

In the background I hear Morgana’s taunts as the guards finished shackling her hands and feet. She’s cackling and laughing at my grandpa’s injury. An injury she inflicted. The guards unceremoniously throw Morgana in the transport van.

I yell at them, “I want her in the deepest and darkest cell. I’ll deal with her later.”

“Absolutely!” Stefan yelled back.
