Chapter 229
Rebel POV

Ugh! Today’s the day and it’s about time. Our dear little pup is getting an eviction notice. I’m one week delayed in giving birth. Dr. Hadley and Dr. Moreno both agreed that inducing labor would be better for my health and the pup’s health. Dr. Moreno made the joke that it would possibly be better for Austin’s health, too.
Dr. Moreno is actually very funny once he gets comfortable with people. I think he likes poking fun at the warriors the most. He seems to have gotten along well with everyone here. I think that had a lot to do with Sophia though.
As soon as they met, they recognized the mate bond. Now both of them are all smiles. Sophia just found out she is pregnant too, which sent Dr. Moreno over the moon with happiness. They will find out the gender is about three weeks. The tall, brooding doctor from central council seems to have disappeared, and he has settled into pack life quite easily.
Austin is rubbing my stomach as we drive over to the pack hospital. He is excited and it’s infectious. He is talking to my stomach here, “How’s daddy’s little princess? Are you ready to come see me?”
I chuckled, “Austin, what are you going to do if you have been talking to Adrian and not Aurora?”
His eyes darkened, “Keep trying until we have Aurora then.”
“You beast.” I laughed.
“Your beast.” He growled, and then looked at me seriously, “I will love all our pups, darling. As long as they are with you.”
My heart melts when he says these things to me. I would say it’s the pregnancy hormones, but I know it’s not. Over the past few months, we have had zero drama, zero enemies, and zero bad things happening. Our life together is finally happy, and we have enjoyed every minute.
Austin is still insatiable, but then again, so am I. Especially, when he is wearing those boots and rugged jeans. He looks like my hard-working man and it’s sexy as fuck.
“What are you thinking about, darling?” He asks, eyes darkened. I realize he can smell my arousal and it makes me blush.
“I was thinking about how sexy you are in your boots and rugged jeans, my alpha.” I said, leaning over and kissing his neck, while he drives.
“Easy, little minx. We are on our way for you to delivery Rory.” He said, “We wouldn’t want you arriving like a mess. Because believe me, that’s exactly what will happen.” He smirked.
“What have I told you about threatening me with a good time, my alpha?” I purred.
He chuckled, “We are here, Rebel. Let’s go meet our daughter, shall we?”
I pout, “Our pup, Austin. It may not be a girl.” I really don’t want him to be disappointed. I hope we are having a girl, but I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket. Not Austin, though. He seems certain. I hope he is right for his sake. I will just be satisfied with a healthy pup.

We walk through the doors, and Dr. Hadley and Dr. Moreno are both waiting for us. “Alpha, Luna, are we ready to deliver your pup today?”
“Yes, our pup was advised of the eviction notice and now you will have to carry out the orders.” I said chuckling as they laughed.
“Yes, ma’am.” Dr. Moreno said. “Let’s get you admitted and in a room before we begin.”
I waddle my way through the hospital and to the maternity ward. Austin is holding on to my waist, helping support me as I walk. This pregnancy wasn’t bad after the morning sickness was under control. It’s been easy. Austin still watched our pup swimming in my belly every night. The pup hiccups still happened, and the rib kicking still hurt. It was only easier this time because we are dealing with just one pup this time. Hopefully, the labor will go smoothly.

After we got me checked in, admitted, changed and with an IV; Dr. Hadley came in to administer the Pitocin in my IV.
“Now, Luna, we are going to break your water for you, and then the medication will start making the contractions intense. We will be monitoring you from now.”
“I want epidural this time.” I remember the first time delivering two pups. Renata said it was the kind of pain you forget. Well, that was bullshit and I’m going in prepared this time.
“Rebel, darling, I thought you wanted to work through it again.” Austin said.
“Listen here, Austin, I see no reason to put myself through unnecessary pain. I will still be contracting. I just don’t want to feel it this time. Once was enough. Epidural is on the menu today.” I said with deadly seriousness.
He chuckled and raised his hands, “Okay. Don’t get upset with me later then.”

It’s been fifteen hours. Austin looks concerned because it didn’t take this long the first time. Dr. Hadley and Dr. Moreno say I’m almost completely dilated. I’m starting to feel the pressure of our pup against my pelvis. I know the time is nearing, and Austin is holding my hand and being the best mate ever.
After thirty minutes, Dr. Hadley comes in and checks me. “We are ready to start pushing, Luna.”
“About damn time.” Austin said.
“Alpha, I can’t control how fast this process goes. No one can.” Dr. Hadley says and then looks at the nurse, ” Please inform Dr. Moreno and then let’s start prepping for the delivery.”
I’m exhausted at this point. I want this to be over. I don’t know if I have the strength to deliver. I think Austin is feeling my concerns. He and Cronos are both pushing strength through the mate bond.
Dr. Moreno walks in and he starts looking at the monitors while Dr. Hadley sits in front of me to handle the
delivery. “Okay Luna. You remember the last time? When you feel that pressure coming on, that’s a contraction, push down and let’s delivery your pup.”
“Okay, doc.”
