His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 260

Chapter 260

Thalia POV

True to my mother’s words, my father calmed down after he saw me come home with a wedding dress and other wedding items. When my mother started talking about what was ordered and what we bought and I played the part of bride, he visibly relaxed.

“Tomorrow, we are going out for additional things, Diego.” My mother said. “Plus, we have to go to the hairstylist to talk about the hair and make up. We already have pictures of Thalia in the dress. We will be gone most of the day tomorrow.”

My father looked at my mother and smiled. An actual smile. I didn’t think those muscles in his face worked anymore. “That’s fine, cariño.”

He looks at me, “I’m glad to see you are finally accepting this marriage alliance.”

“Who said anything about me accepting this marriage?” I said. “My choice was taken away…again.” I said and walked upstairs to my room.

As I walked away, “You can’t blame her, Diego. She doesn’t love or want Armando. You are pushing this on her. Don’t cause any trouble for her. This is hard enough for her.”

I hear my father sigh. “Fine. I won’t say another word. Do whatever shopping and things you need to get done tomorrow finished, okay?”

“Fine. I’m going to my room to rest a bit. Then I will make dinner.”

As I make my way to my room, my mother walks in behind me. “You see? Done. Now tomorrow, we get your supplies and then we will shop a little.”

“We are not really going to a stylist, are we?

“No, but if we don’t have as many bags, it’s because we didn’t strictly shop. We went for consultations. He won’t suspect anything.” She hugged me, “I’m going to miss you when you leave, mi vida. I’m going to rest now. I’ll make the fried pork dish you love tonight.”

“I love you, ma. Thank you.”

My mom leaves to her room. Tomorrow, Mia will come with us. I will need her with me to ensure I get the right supplies for her

The next morning, my father doesn’t question anything. He said to have fun and we left. We went to my warehouse and when my mom and sister walked in, they gasped.

“Thalia, what is this place?” Mia asked.

“This is where I come before I take a job, Mia.”

“What kind of job, mi hija?” My mom asked.

I sighed. It’s time to tell them. So, I sit my mom and Mia down. “Ma, hermana, I’m not a damsel in distress. I put up with papa and his bullshit to shield you both. Especially, you Mia. Papa has done horrible things to me and this marriage alliance is another one of those horrible things.” I continued because they were both looking lost, “After that ‘shameful event’ that he loves to tell everyone about, Pablo took pity on me and showed me how to defend myself. He trained me in secret. He hated what papa did to me. I learned how to use my knives, how to fight, and how to disguise myself, so no one would know who I was.

“But why, sis?”

“Because I decided a long time ago, that I was going to leave here. I started taking jobs as a hitman. I completed more jobs than I care to admit. I did it to earn my money on the side quietly. Papa would never have let me go to college and make something of myself. Just like he is doing to you, Mia. So I used whatever skill I learned, and made money with it, so I could one day, get out of here. When you told me that papa was going to make you work in the mailroom until he married you off, I knew I had to get you out of here too.”

“This is blood money?” My mother asked.

“Yes. I killed bad people ma. Men who stole. Men who raped young girls. Men who were selling drugs to kids. Men who were human trafficking. Every job I took, every kill, it saved more lives than I took.”

My mother’s eyes teared up. “You did this to buy your freedom?”

“Yes. Mia’s freedom and mine. It could buy yours too, ma. Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?”

“No. I’m staying here. We need to ensure you and Mia get out. Don’t worry about me. I will be fine.” She said.

It crushes my heart, but I can’t force her to come with us. “Fine. I need to start gathering supplies. Mia, I need to have you try on clothes and wigs.”

“What?”

“We are going to walk out the day of the wedding. No one will see us, either.” I said smiling.

I grabbed a duffle bag and opened my weapons closet. I hear my mother and Mia gasp. I pay them no mind though. As I’m grabbing my knives and putting them in the duffle bag, “Mia, the journey we are going on is long. If anything happens, you will be glad I have these on the road.”

Once I’m done loading my bag, I get on the computer and buzz two colleagues. ” Kabar! Bitch! What are you up to?!” Canary asked.

“Canary, I need you and Sin to pull one last job for me this weekend. I need a diversion and there will be no hits. I will pay you both twenty grand each.”

“One last job? What are you talking about? What’s the diversion?” Sin asked.

“I’m leaving. Going dark, permanently. I need smoke and mirrors. Meet me at our usual spot on Friday night. I will explain everything then.”
