Aiden POV

Reid is staying with me another week. We want to go get Thalia. I only just got the address from the guards. Then I felt like a bucket of ice was thrown on me when they said she went out all day with her mother and came back carrying a wedding

garment bag.

“She’s fucking marrying him, Reid.” I said. Leon is losing his mind.

“Not until this weekend, Aiden. We will get this figured out before then.”

“Leon and I are pissed. Leon wants to go there now and drag her back here.”

“I understand, Aiden. We have to approach this correctly though. She is being forced into this, you know that, brother.” Reid said.

I know he’s right, but my heart is breaking into pieces. I can’t stand this separation. She’s mine and someone is taking her from me. I can’t fucking stand this anymore.

Just then, I receive another call. “Alpha?”

“Yeah, what’s happened?”

“Something is off. Thalia, her sister and mother, all went to a warehouse. When they came out, Thalia was carrying a large duffel bag and more garment bags.”

“More wedding clothes?”

“No Alpha, the warehouse is not some outlet. It’s in the middle of an industrial park. Like for manufacturing.”

What? “Go on.”

“After they left, I looked into the warehouse windows, and Alpha, it looked like a command center. Plus, the security is advanced. I’m not sure what is going on there, but I didn’t see any laptops. What I did see, however, were disguises.”

“Keep following them, Jared. Let me know if you see anything else suspicious.”

“Will do, Alpha.”

I sit back and stare off into space. Reid is looking at me. “Well?”

“She took her mother and sister to a warehouse in an industrial park. Jared said that inside, it looked like a command center, but there were no laptops or electronics. There were disguises though. When they came out of the warehouse, Thalia had a

duffel bag and garment bags.” I told him.

“She did say she was a hitman. Do you thinkshe was bullshitting about that, or could she have been serious?” Reid asked.

Reid and I had discussed the whole hitman thing she told us. At the time, we though she was playing tough. I mean, I know she has a temper on her, but I saw her face bruised and swollen from her father. Why not fight back, if she has that skill set?

“I think you’re fight, Reid. There is more to her than what we do know.” I said.

As Reid and I were discussing possible extraction plans and coming up empty, there is a knock on the door

“Come in.” I said, still looking at the plans in front of me.

“Alpha, I thought you might like some tea??

Fuck. Tina is here. She has been trying a little too hard this week to get close to me. I don’t know what she is playing at, but I don’t trust this sudden uptick in attention from her

“Leave it on the table. Thank you.” I said dismissively.

“What are you working on? Is there anything I can do to help?” Tina asks.

Reid jumps in, “Tina, what are you playing at? Since when have you ever cared about the work Aiden does?”

“I care. I just thought I could take an active role and offer my assistance.” She said.

“Your assistance is not needed, Tina. Please close the door on your way out.” I said.

“Fine. Have a good evening.” She said as she left.

“I’m throwing that tea out.” Reid said.

“Hm? Why?”

“Seriously? She came in here with a short ass dress and a cup of tea. I bet if you drink the tea, you are going to want to jump that girls bones and you would be sending betrayal pains to Thalia.” Reid said.

I looked up. “You think she poisoned the tea?”

“She came here in the evening, in a provocative dress, with tea, just because?” Reid said raising an eyebrow, “Bro, I know you are hung up on Thalia, but you have to pay attention to the threats around you.”

“Don’t throw out the tea. Let’s have it tested, first. If it is poisoned, then Tina will have to answer for it.”

“Finally, using that lump three feet above your ass, called a brain. About damn time.” Reid said.

I chuckled, “Fuck you. Now come help me figure this out.”

The next morning, I take the cup of tea to Dr Moreno. “Alpha, how can I help you?”

“Someone

gave this to me last night. I fear it may be poisoned. Before, I jump the gun, could you run some tests on the contents and see if my suspicions are true?”

“Absolutely, Alpha. I will work on it right away. I should have it ready by this afternoon.”

“Thank you. Also, don’t forget to bring your nieces to me when they get here.’

“I haven’t forgotten. I also told them that they would need to accept you as their Alpha, since they are moving here. They both said it wouldn’t be a problem.”

“Very good. I look forward to meeting them.” I said as I walked away.

On my way back to the pack house, once again, Tina appears. Reid is right, she is wearing provocative clothing. Not her normal style.

“Alpha, good morning. Did you sleep well?”
