Aiden POV

When Raul walks out of the room, he is visibly upset. “Raul, what’s wrong? It Thalia injured?” I asked concerned.

“Some injuries are deeper than you think Aiden. Please take care of my niece. Her life has been hard. Harder than any person should have to live. Excuse me, I need to step outside.” He said.

In all the years I have known Raul, he has never gotten mad. Why is he mad? He has always been the epitome of calm and professional. Something must have happened.

I knock on the door to Thalia’s room. When she opens the door, she is clean and dressed in leggings and a long T-shirt. “Hey, beautiful. Are you ready to get out of here?”

“Yep, sure am. I need to unpack my things. I don’t even know which house it my uncles.”

As I’m about to tell her that she should be with me at the pack house since she is my Luna, her uncle returns. “Thalia, you are the Alpha’s mate. That makes you his Luna and this pack’s Luna. You need to be protected with a Luna guard and that means you will need to stay at the pack house.”

Thalia’s eyes widened and she looked terrified. Am I terrifying to her? “I’m going to stay with strangers?”

I chuckled, “No, Mojito. You stay with me. That’s how these things work. If you want, I will have the Luna suite set up for you if it makes you uncomfortable to stay in my room with me.”

I see the worried look in her eyes. She single-handedly took down six rogues by herself, which had my blood running cold before I knew it was her, and now she looks scared. I would say she is nervous around me, but we shared a bed together already. I feel like this is something else altogether.

She says something in Spanish to her uncle. He chuckles and responds. She sighs and takes a deep breath. Then she looks at me, “Okay. I’ll stay with you Aiden.” She

says.

“First, that was incredibly sexy hearing you speak like that, and second, can you tell me why you looked terrified just now?”

She says something else in Spanish and then her uncle responds and I see her blush. I raise my eyebrow at her, and she bites her bottom lip. She looks embarrassed. “I need to say bye to Mia.” She squeaks.

I chuckle, “She’s in the waiting room.” I say as I point her in that direction. She takes off quickly, carrying her bag.

I turn to Raul and he looks amused. “Mind explaining what just happened, Raul?”

“She didn’t know what completing the mate bond meant, Aiden. You have to understand, her father raised her by human standards. She’s educated but not about wolf customs. Neither is Mia. I will be showing her moving forward, but you may need to exercise some patience with Thalia

That’s why she blushed. I’m amused now too. She seems innocent about some things and deadly about others. I still remember seeing her kill the last two rogues. Even Reid was shocked. It’s like her personality is in constant disagreement.

“Don’t worry, I will help her out.” I said looking her way.

“Is that why you were in a foul mood, when you got back?” Raul asked.

“Yeah. I thought she had rejected me for the guy she was being forced to marry. I have been trying to figure out a way to get her out of that area all week, but I wasn’t aware of the many threats. When I heard she ran off yesterday without a trace, I kept calling my guards for updates about her whereabouts. They haven’t been able to track her though. Now we know why. I need to call them and tell them to come back.” I smiled.

“I’m glad it worked out this way, Aiden. I’m glad my nieces are safe now.” He said seriously.

“They both need protection. I will make sure they have it, Raul.” I replied.

“It seems like there is a lot to celebrate. Please allow me to invite you and Thalia to have dinner in my home tonight. Sophia told me she is making lasagna. Besides, I’m sure Thalia and Mia would like to meet their cousins.”
