His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 279

Chapter 279

Thalia POV

Aiden stopped and looked at me. “You’re right. It didn’t occur to me at the time they would be laced with silver. We will need to be careful not to injure anyone in the training grounds.”

I raised an eyebrow at him, “Aiden, I don’t miss. Ever.”

He smirked. “Okay, maybe we will grab a non-silver knife and test that out today.”

“What? You want to fight with me?” I asked.

“Sure. Why not?”

“I said it before Aiden. I don’t fight to subdue. I fight to kill. That is how I was trained.”

“Then I guess I will have to subdue you

“That sure of yourself?”

first” He smirked.

He points at himself, “Alpha. Comes with the territory.”

I laugh. “Alright. But you can’t get mad if I cut you.” I warned.

“I promise, I won’t.” He said.

We finally got to the training ground. Aiden and I continued bantering with him. He is funny. I said it before, but this time it feels different. This time, I feel more relaxed. It’s only been three days since I left my father’s home, and I feel like I’m finally able to start breathing. Aiden has been perfect and what feels even more amazing is how our energy matches. I feel like we have the same sense of humor and the same outlooks on things. Even though he is way more optimistic than I am. Some things are still hard grained in me.

As we enter the training ground, I see Isaiah wasted no time getting all kinds of obstacles put together. He has targets hanging from the ceiling and targets on the ground, wall, and some are moving. I smile at his efforts. I almost feel like he set up a weird children’s course.

On the side, I see Rory who is giddy to see me. Aiden’s parents are also here and standing by Rory. Austin has his arm around Rebel, and it is so damn sweet how they show their love publicly. I don’t know if I can do that, but it is certainly sweet to see.

“Alright, sis! We are ready for you. It would have been way cooler, but this was the

best we could do in thirty minutes.” Isaiah said.

Austin looks at Isaiah, “I think this is good and some of these targets don’t look that simple.”

I chuckled, “This brings me back to when I was sixteen. This is fine. However, for safety, everyone should stay back. My knives are laced with silver and not that anything will happen, but just in case, I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”

Rory is looking at me with intent. “I knew you would be bad ass!” She laughed. “I can’t wait to see this. I missed the rogue fight.”

One of the warriors spoke up, “Gamma Rory, I saw our Luna. She is bad ass. The mess she left behind took a long time to clean up.”

Right. Some of the folks here saw the fight. I’m surprised they are not scared of me. Maybe because they are wolves or warriors. Who knows. I don’t want anyone to be afraid of me anyway.

“I need a minute to set up.” I said as I dropped my bag on the bench. I opened the duffel and grabbed the thigh holsters and strapped them in. Then I grabbed some of the hand throwing knives and secured them in place before grabbing my scabbard. From there, the only knife different from my kabar knives is the bowie. It’s longer at sixteen inches. Then I grabbed my sheath for my waist and inserted my seven inch parkerized blade.

“Holy Moon Goddess! You look like you are going to war.” Rory squealed.

I laughed at her energy. I look over at Aiden who is looking at me with some emotion I cannot name. The last thing I grab is my Kukri Machete. It’s eight inches long and completely black. There is only a thin silver lining along the edge. It’s great for combat, but I am going to slice through some of the targets.

“Okay, I’m ready.”

Everyone is looking at me like I’m crazy. Well, I’m Latina, so it’s an occupational hazard either way. I shake it off, get focused and throw my Kukri straight to the bull’s eye of the standalone target. Then I move to my smaller knives and hit all of the hanging targets while moving to my seven inch parkerized knife. With a flick of the wrist in the right angle I managed to slice through three targets before rolling forward and reaching for my bowie to stab the final target at the opposite side of the

room.

When I’m done, I slowly stand up and turn around. Everyone is looking at me with astonishment. I suddenly feel self-conscious. “Did I do something wrong?” I asked.

“Wrong?” Rory said, being the first one to snap out of the looks I am getting from everyone in the room. “WRONG?! No, that was fucking amazing, Tally! Do you even see your precision? You hit every bull’s eye!” She finished, jumping from one foot to the other. “You have to show me how to do that!”

I laughed. “Sure.”
