Chapter 283
Thalia POV
I had a great time with Mia and my Tio. One is enthusiastic about teaching and the other is enthusiastic about learning. It’s infectious; their love for medicine. I wish I had a passion for something the way they have a passion for medicine. Everything I’ve ever done has been out of necessity. I learned to dance and sing to be able to seduce targets. I killed because it was a job.
This is why I don’t think I can stay here. I feel lost in my own life. I don’t feel like I have a purpose. Aiden’s purpose is clear. I feel like everyone around me knows who they are, but I don’t have a clue who I am.
As I leave the pack hospital, I sigh. I start walking back, and I see Aiden walking towards me and smiling at me. I smiled back at him. He has been the only good thing to happen to me and yet, I know I’m no good for him. The more I learn about pack life, the more I realize I can’t give him what he needs. It’s not that I wouldn’t want to, it’s that I can’t. So much has been taken from me and now it will affect more than just me. I don’t even have the courage to tell him. He deserves someone better than
I’m lost in my thoughts when he walks up to me and steals a kiss. “Hello gorgeous.”
“Hey there, guapo.”
“What’s that mean?”
I smile, “handsome.”
“You think I’m handsome.” He says as he puts his arms around and kisses me again.
“Maybe.” I said, flirting back with him.
“Maybe?” He smirked. “I guess I need to convince you, huh?”
“What did you have in mind?”
“Come with me, I want to show you something.” He said, taking me by the hand.
“Where are we going?” I ask as he leads me into the woods.
“We are almost there.” He said as we continue walking.
We walk for a few minutes and past some more trees when a clearing opens up to a beautiful waterfall going into a serene looking lake. I miss the ocean, but this is beautiful. It’s picturesque. Lighting bugs are flying everywhere like little twinkling

lights. I smell the freshness of the air and water and when I close my eyes it reminds me of the ocean, except for the missing scent of sand.
“Do you like it? I thought we could have dinner out here tonight.” He said softly, wrapping his arms around me from behind.
I turned around and put my arms around his neck. “You are too good to me.
“Anything I do, will never be enough.” He says as he leans down to kiss me. As I let myself enjoy his kiss and warmth of his arms around me, I hear two sets of familiar footsteps.
I break the kiss immediately and call out, “Canary? Sin?”
“Thalia, what is it?”
“How the hell did they find me?” I said. “Come out ladies.”
“Damn it. We were being extra quiet too, Kabar.” Canary said laughing.
“Yeah, we even made sure we were walking with moccasins and on soft ground.” Said Sin.
‘Are they threats?’ Aiden asks me in the mind link.
‘Only if they took a job to take you out.’ I smirked in the mind link.
“How the hell did you find me?” I said giving them both a hug.
“We are high tech. You know that, Kabar.” Canary said and then looked at Aiden, ” Who’s this tall drink of water?”
((
Something very possessive comes over me, First, he is MY tall drink of water. Watch yourself ladies.” I say as I stand in front of Aiden. I may not deserve him, but he’s the best thing to ever happen to me and he is mine. “Second, Aiden is my better half.”
Aiden wraps his arms around me from behind, “Canary and Sin, is it? Are you both hitmen like Kabar?”
“Yes, we are. We will never be as good as Kabar though. However, Canary and I had to come see our colleague. It’s important and she doesn’t check her messages anymore.” Said Sin.
“That’s the whole point of going dark.” I said.
“Yeah, well, your father and Armando are going crazy looking for you and your sister and they have hired a bunch of people to track you down. Sin and I wanted to make

sure you were covered, but if we were able to find you in three days’ time, they wouldn’t be far behind. I give them another month and they will be here.” Canary finished.
Aiden growls, “They won’t make is past our borders.”
“Maybe, but bullets can.” Canary said.
‘Do we tell them we are werewolves?’ I asked Aiden.
‘Do they plan on staying?’ Aiden questioned.
“Are you all staying or going back?” I asked
“Well, that depends. Are there any other single men that look as good looking as your man?” Canary asked.
