Chapter 286
Thalia POV
Nothing good ever lasts for me. Seeing Canary and Sin here tonight, watching them fight with Aiden and me. Learning that my father and Armando will be here in one to two months is letting me know clear as day that I have to leave again. I will take a hundred thousand with me and leave the rest for Mia for school. I will throw their scent off of this pack and keep Aiden and Mia protected. The pack will be protected.
I have grown to love this pack. They shouldn’t have to pay for anything that has to do with me. I’m damaged and I can’t give my mate what he needs. If I could, I would stay and fight for us. But he shouldn’t fight for someone like me. If he fights for me, just to find out that I’m not worth the fight and he rejects me, it will kill me.
I know he loves me right now, but when he finds out that I can’t give him what he needs, he won’t want me anymore. I will talk to Canary and Sin about helping me get out without a trace. It’s better for everyone if I leave. If I can throw my scent off the trail and redirect them, I can keep everyone safe.

The next morning, I start my day with Aiden. We kiss and then get ready for breakfast. Afterwards, we walked down, hand in hand, to the dining hall.
“You seem quiet this morning. Is everything, okay, Mojito?” Aiden asked me.
No. Nothing is okay. I hate this decision and it’s the only one I have. “Everything is fine. I just don’t know what to expect with Canary and Sin.”
It’s not a lie. I don’t know if they are going to help me a second time. This time without pay. I just need to talk to them alone. Then I need to talk to Mia. She has to know that I will come back for her and give her the fake papers I made for her, in case she needs to pick up and leave at a moment’s notice.
I sat with Aiden and his family. Canary and Sin join us. Rebel and Austin of course are gracious and clear that the human world cannot know about our kind. They hear stories but it’s all folklore.
“Is there a way to become a werewolf?” Canary asked.
I smirked, “Why? You wanna be one now?”
“Would that be so bad?” she replied seriously.
“Wait, you want to be a werewolf?” I asked and then I looked at Sin, “What about

you?”
“I mean, we were talking about it last night. It would certainly be nice to get away from the human world. Our world sucks. You know that better than anyone Kabar.”
“So, is there a way?” Canary asked.
Austin spoke first, “There is, but it’s an extremely painful process. Once that process begins, there isn’t a way to stop it and there is no guarantee you will survive the process. We don’t turn humans for that reason.”
“What’s the method?” Canary asked.
“You would have to be bitten by an Alpha and have their venom pumped into your blood stream during the full moon.” Rebel replied.
“So, Aiden would need to do it?” Sin asked.
“No. It needs to be an unmated Alpha. Someone like Isaiah.” Aiden said.
“Why?”
“Because my mate would suffer terrible betrayal pains.”
Sin’s eyes widen, “Wait. You mean, if I’m turned and found my mate, if he was cheating, I would know?”
“Yes.” Austin said, “Betrayal pains are terrible.”
“You sound like you are speaking from experience.” Canary said.
“I am. See, anything that happens, voluntary or not, can affect the other mate.” Austin said. “Understand, there are good and bad sides to being a wolf, ladies. I seriously think you should learn everything before you decide to make a decision like this, because it will affect your life completely.”
“Yes, sir.” Sin said. She sounds melancholy.
After breakfast, I tell Aiden that I need to talk to Canary and Sin. Then I want to spend some time with Mia. He simply kissed me and told me he would catch up with me in a little while. I took off to talk to Canary and Sin.
Once I explained everything to them without telling them about my past trauma, then they saw the sense I made and were on board to help me. After we talked about a rough outline of a plan, I told them I needed to talk to my sister. They both said, if they decide to move on with wanting to turn into wolves, they would watch over her and make sure nothing happened to her.

After our discussion, I went in search of Mia. She told me she was in the training facility in the mind link. I jogged over there and saw her sitting on the benches with a book in her hand. I smiled and shook my head. “Are you here to study or train?”
“Can’t I do both?” She said, smiling. “What’s going on, hermana?”
In Spanish I start telling her we need to talk. “Okay, what’s with the mystery?”
“Papa and Armando have men looking for us. Canary and Sin give them two months before they find us.” I said.
Mia’s face looks serious now. “What are we going to do? I like it here.”
