His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 316

Chapter 316

Aiden POV

I definitely need to talk to my dad now. I have never heard of a full black wolf. A wolf with black teeth? I need information. I look over at the clock, and I see that it’s almost eight in the morning. It’s too early to mind link him.

Thalia is sleeping soundly in my arms. One thing is for sure; she let me in her mind. Finally. It’s hard when she can’t mark me. I’ve been trying to figure out why she still holds back her feelings about what she has been through. She always has a tough exterior.

My personality wants to fix what’s broken. I want to protect her and help her heal, but she doesn’t let me in. In bed, she let’s go of everything and I enjoy it, but what happened tonight felt like a breakthrough. I need to remember to thank Nyx when

she surfaces.

I still need to talk to Thalia about Nyx. What did she dream about?

I feel Thalia starting to move. She is waking up and doing her normal and adorable kitten like stretch. I wore her out last night. First, she was unconscious after the party and then a second time after her dream. Leon was happy to pump Thalia full of his venom. In his mind, it will help Nyx come out. I’m not so sure though.

I see my mate’s sleepy eyes open, and she looks up at me. “Good morning.” She says shyly.

I smile at her gently, “Good morning, tiger.”

I’m rewarded with her blushing and a small smile. “The after party was fun.”

“You certainly knew how to kick off the after party too, baby.” I said. “You know I want to talk to you about your dream, right?”

She sighed softly. “I figured as much.”

“Tell me about your dream.” I said.

“I was on the beach at night. You were on a pier in the distance. When I got closer, I tried to reach for you, but you

told me that I had to let go in order to stay with you. You told me you didn’t want to be alone.” She said with tears starting to form in her eyes. I sit up and pull her on my lap.

“What happened then?”

“I got distracted by a reflection shining from under the pier. When I looked where

you were again, you disappeared.” She said looking down with one tear coming down her cheek. But she continued, “Then I heard a voice calling my name. It was low, but I could hear it over and over again. When I finally called back asking who was there, the voice told me to come closer.

This sounds more like a creepy nightmare, rather than a dream but I continue listening.

“There was a door and the voice said to look through the door, and I did. When I stepped through the door, I saw a massive black wolf. Bigger than your wolf Aiden. She was covered in silver chains. Everything about her was black. Her eyes were black. There were no whites in her eyes. Her fur, paw pads, claws, teeth, everything was black. Then she said she was my wolf and her name is Nyx. But it doesn’t make sense. I’m not an Alpha wolf.”

“I will talk to my dad about Nyx, mojito. But what did Nyx say to you?”

“I asked her why she was covered in silver chains and she said that the chains were my trauma. She showed me all the trauma in my mind. Then she said she can’t come out unless I face my trauma and fears. She said not to be afraid to face the maker of my trauma. She said you would give me pain and pleasure and to let you. Then she said I’m more powerful than anyone realizes, even our mates. After that, I felt like I was sucked through a portal when you woke me up.”

I sat back trying to digest everything she just told me. Facing trauma is hard, but it’s exactly what she should do in order to move forward. I think she is powerful. She has strength that I’ve never seen before. She may be a kitten when she is with me alone, but in front of the pack, she is strength. I mean, not many women, aside from my own mother, could say they took down six rogues in the span of ten minutes.

“I promise, we will get to the bottom of this. It’s interesting to me that your sister’s wolf didn’t give any alpha energy either. I ran with her yesterday and she seemed like a normal unranked wolf. I wonder why your wolf is a massive black wolf.” I said.

“Could I be cursed?” She asked.

“What? No, baby. You are not cursed. You have been dealt a terrible father though.” I said. “Last night, you said you wanted pups and a happy life. Why didn’t you tell me before?”

“My life is happier now than it has ever been, Aiden. I guess I never mentioned having pups, because I came to terms with the reality of what happened to me. I never allowed myself to daydream about motherhood, even though it’s something I always thought I would have. At least that was what I thought before the attack. I mean, at fourteen, I never thought seriously about it. It was more like, a teenage girl

dreaming about a happily ever after.” She said sheepishly.

“What about facing the maker of your trauma?” I asked.

“I have faced him. Many times, before. It’s just never escalated to a fight.” She said.

“Thalia, you ran from him. You took Mia and ran. You didn’t face him. You realize that, right?”
