Chapter 43

“I’m not saying anything else. Just kill me already.” Carter snarls.

“Alpha, please stand behind me.” Roxie says calmly. Because I’m curious to see her gift in action, I move behind her. She steps forward and I feel her emitting something into the air. But she pushes it in front of her, not behind her. It’s affecting Cronos and I see Renz being affected too. I keep my focus though. I want to see my mate in action.

“Look at me Carter.” She says calmly. “I can see you were told to come here. For what purpose?” She can see he was told to come here? How?

He looks at her like he is in a trance. He begins speaking, “To find a she-wolf. She’s very valuable to another pack.”

Roxie tilts her head, “Who is the she-wolf and what is the name of the pack that wants her?”

He’s trying to break free from Roxie’s trance, but it’s useless. “She is the long-lost granddaughter of the Rising Moon Pack. Her mother died giving birth to her, but the baby survived.”

“Why would the Rising Moon Pack task rogues to find this she-wolf?” Roxie makes a very good point. Packs usually have their own warriors.

“It wasn’t her pack. It’s a rival pack, Blue Moon Pack. The Alpha wants the she-wolf for himself so he can take over Rising Moon. He sent us to get her. He said a witch told him she was in this pack.” He says. My stomach is getting knots. I don’t like where this is going.

“Were you told the she-wolfs name?” Roxie asked. I’m certain I know the answer, but I’m hoping I’m wrong.

“Rebel Lawson” He said.

“SON OF A BITCH!” I snarled.

With eyes still focused on Carter, Roxie calls out to me, “Alpha, calm yourself.” I have to take several breaths and tell Cronos to calm down until we have everything we need. Then we will finish this asshole.

Roxie continues, “Where are these packs located and what is the name of the Blue Moon Pack’s Alpha?”

Carter is really trying to get out of the trance but can’t. “They are in the Northeastern region. Alpha Kaden Drakos runs Blue Moon.”

“Does Rising Moon Pack know the baby survived?” Roxie questions

“No. What we were told is the father told the family that both mom and baby died.” Carter states.

“Alpha, are there any additional questions you want to ask?” Roxie asks, still focused on Carter.

I need to know if there are any other packs working with Blue Moon. “Do you know if Alpha Kaden is working with any other packs to find this she-wolf?” I ask him

“I don’t know. He didn’t say anything to us.” He stated.

“Roxie?” I call out, Slowly, I feel her aura pull back. It’s not an Alpha aura, but it feels just as powerful. She steps back and turns to face me, “Yes mate?”
