His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 533

Isaiah POV

This recording might break Kaia. It was not easy watching Paul crumble the way he did, seeing Sinclair. He really believed it was Iris. What unsettled me further was the way his voice cracked when he heard that Iris had been the target.

The tears were real. The agony in his voice was real. The pleading for forgiveness was real. Paul has always been an arrogant bastard. Everything that has ever been said about him was negative. He was arrogant, pompous, and a bully. He didn’t care about his pack members, and he was cruel to Kaia. Yet, standing here, watching this unfold, something seems off.

I don’t think he ordered the hit on Iris. I believe him. He doesn’t cry for anyone, yet here he was, crying for Iris. I don’t have it in me to destroy the illusion for him. But I don’t have to, because Sinclair does it anyway.

Right as she finished telling him it was his punishment, she stepped towards him again.

“But I will tell you this, Paul. Iris is dead. It turns out, she was a twin. I am her twin, Sinclair. For the record, I believe you didn’t send the rogues after her. But she was the target. If you felt this bad, why didn’t you ever investigate it? Did you not care, or were you helping the person who ordered it?”

“You’re her sister? Are you sure?” Paul said.

Aric then spoke, “We ran the DNA test. It’s true. Iris was a twin. Sinclair is my sister.”

Paul fell to his knees. “I cared. I did send a crew to investigate. But there were no findings. By all accounts, it looked like a random attack. I swear to you both, I didn’t work with rogues to kill Iris. I regretted rejecting her and turning her away. I was foolish.”

I stepped into view. “You sent a crew to investigate, and they came up empty? That doesn’t sound right, Paul. Where is the report? I want to look at it.”

“I have a safe in the floorboard in my bedroom. Or your bedroom, Isaiah. The combination is Iris’ birthday,” he said with his eyes down. “I always suspected something was wrong with the report, but I couldn’t prove it.”

“I’ll take a look at it. So will Kaia. If whoever was targeting Iris finds out she was a twin, they will target me. I love a good fight,” Sinclair said.

“You should be careful, Sinclair,” Paul said. “Rogues are nasty people, and if they are getting paid by someone else, it could be someone powerful.”

“Paul,” I began, “Sinclair was taken as a newborn. She didn’t have a good home growing up. She later became a hitman and is completely lethal. Plus, she has the entire Blackstone and Ironclaw pack backing her.”

He looked at Sinclair curiously, “A hitman?”

“Kaia is one too,” I said. “She is just as lethal. She didn’t lawn dart you at that dinner by instinct. She's trained to be deadly.”

“Kaia?”

“Yeah. You had a chance to have a good woman by your side twice, Paul. You fucked it up both times. I doubt you will get a third chance,” I said as it signaled for Aric and Sinclair for us to leave.

We walked away from Paul’s cell, and he was still kneeling on the ground. His head is looking down now. I hope he is feeling the weight of his actions now. Because Max has a place to take him. A pack where they still have family.

He notified me today that he is coming back to Ironclaw with transfer papers for both him and Paul. I hope Paul will leave quietly and not cause a scene. Maybe this interaction will give him that religion that Kaia was talking about earlier.

As we walked back, Sinclair looked deep in thought. Aric and I both noticed that she was still looking straight ahead. She is walking with us, but her mind is definitely somewhere else.

“What are you thinking about, sis?” Aric asked.
