Seriously? How am I the only one noticing that we haven’t had a rogue attack since Sinclair left? We had a big one when we first got here. Then we had a small one just before Sinclair left. We didn’t even call Thalia for help on the second one. We handled it ourselves. After that, nothing.

“We had a large and a small attack. Then Sinclair left, and there have been no attacks. That can’t be a coincidence,” I said.

Then you could see Isaiah’s wheels start spinning in his head. Aric and Sinclair looked at each other, and then at me.

“Why didn’t you call us?” she asked.

“You were hours away. Doubt you would have made it on time. Besides, Isaiah and Adrian, along with some of the trusted warriors, handled it. Also, no offense, but I would have called Aiden and Thalia first. They are closer.”

“What makes you think they are after Sinclair?” Isaiah asked.

I shrugged my shoulders, “Just a hunch. Anyway, we need to find the report in the bedroom.”

Isaiah stood up, “I’ll go. You three stay here.”

I don’t blame him for going on his own. He doesn’t want anyone else’s scent in our bedroom but ours. The only exception is the omegas that come in to change our sheets and clean the living room.

While Isaiah is away, I strike up a conversation with Sinclair and Aric. “Did anything else happen that wasn’t caught on camera?”

“I saw John. The former Gamma. He didn’t like seeing me at all,” Sinclair said.

“He doesn’t know you though,” I replied.

“Yeah. Isaiah got in his face, but then so did Aric. He couldn’t believe I was Aric’s sister,” she said.

“Really?”

“He didn’t know who you were, but didn’t like seeing you? He just decidedly was against you?” I asked curiously.

“Yeah,” Aric said.

“Don’t you find that odd?”

Sinclair paused and then cursed under her breath. “You’re right. Why hate someone you don’t know? He narrowed his eyes at me. It was like he had a vendetta against me.”

I grinned. “Plus, his file was forged by Paul. Not because of something nefarious on Paul’s part. He’s an idiot and clearly doesn’t know how to investigate. It was forged so he could be Gamma. Why? We know why Paul did it. Why did John want it?”

“When you think about it, John acts more like a rogue than he does a Gamma,” Aric added. “I always had to get him to back off of the omegas.”
