Adrian POV
Amber and I have been trying to work through our issues. Which is really fucking hard, since I don’t know what she did and I have no way of finding out. She has, however, opened herself up to me. It’s been almost a month since she finally told me all she could. Since she let me make love to her.
Ever since then, she and I have restored that part of our relationship. Having her in my arms, being inside her, pushing all the love I have for her in our bond, and her not rejecting me has made me feel a lot better.
With Aric and Sinclair back, I plan to leave for Blackstone with Amber by the end of the week. Isaiah and I are finalizing the Gamma and Lead Warrior roles. Also, some of the warriors who were pro-Paul seem to have switched sides and are now pro-Isaiah.
It doesn’t surprise me. Isaiah is a natural leader. We are alphas, and we know how to assert our authority. Kaia has been an excellent Luna. The omegas are her fiercest supporters. They absolutely adore her and help her with whatever she needs. It has taken a lot off of Isaiah, especially the food cravings. I think my brother was going to get an ulcer or something.
I get up slowly from the bed and kiss Amber’s forehead. “Wake up, beautiful.”
She groaned a little. “Not yet. I’m still tired.”
I chuckled. “I’m sorry. Did I wear you out again?”
“Yes. You’re insatiable.”
I smiled widely. “Only for you, gorgeous.”
Her sleepy eyes open, and she smiles gently. It doesn’t fully reach her eyes, but it’s not because of me. It’s because of whatever battle she is fighting. I want to be there for her and help her, but I don’t know how to anymore. Not that I’ve given up; I just don’t know what else to do.
“I need to get ready and meet with Isaiah,” I said, kissing her quickly and getting out of bed.
I went to the shower, cleaned myself, then got dressed and left the room. I sighed and made my way to the dining hall. I see Isaiah there with Kaia. I see Aric and Sinclair, too.
She smiles brightly at me, and I return the smile. “Good morning, everyone.”
“Good morning, Mr. Brooding. You look less brooding today,” Sinclair teased.
“You look less boring today,” I shot back.
Aric spoke up, “My sister is anything but boring. I assure you.”
I chuckled, “She’s lethal, I’ll give you that.”
“She’s more than lethal, Adrian,” Kaia said. “She's smart, funny, witty, and way out of your league.”
I laughed. “Is this ‘gang up on Adrian’ day or something?”
Isaiah chuckled. “No. This is a normal day with these two women.”
“Then I feel so sorry for you, my brother.”
“Best time of my life, bro. I’m definitely not bored with these two.”
“Right. Well, after breakfast, we should finalize the Gamma and Led Warrior roles,” I said, ending the tyranny of everyone ganging up on me.
Aric looked at both Isaiah and me. “I presume I’m invited to this conversation?”
Isaiah smirked, “I sure as hell hope so.”
