His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 550

Kaia POV

Now that Birch and Satterwhite are gone, the rest of the board looked at me, holding fifteen percent of the remaining shares. They are all now the minor stakeholders, while Isaiah and I are the major stakeholders. I gave him the majority because I want him to serve as acting CEO while I am on maternity leave. Then he is going to transfer ten percent to me later. He insisted on giving me a signed copy of the agreement so it could be processed, to show he was serious. He is the alpha of Ironclaw though, and I trust him as my mate.

The auras of everyone in the room showed clear uncertainty, except for one. She is an older woman with ties to Birch. I don’t have anything concrete against her, though. On the surface, she looks clean. Her name is Misty Whitaker. She has brown hair with a Bride of Frankenstein streak on the right side. Her skin looks flawless but aged. Like parchment paper that’s never been used. You can see the grooves, but it still looks crisp. Her eyes are blue with a hint of brown, and her lips are thin. She is of a thin frame, but she still looks in shape. Her aura is mocking. She is looking at me like I have some nerve.

Well, I do. I just showed it. She can build a bridge and get over it.

“Mrs. Whitaker, I think you have a differing opinion?”

“I think this was a hostile takeover,” she replied with disapproval.

“Hostile takeover? That was done when the judge handed me everything. This…was procedure. I will not have traitors working for Black Enterprises,” I began. “Let me be clear right now, Isaiah Willis is my new husband. He is the Deputy CEO, starting today. When I’m on maternity leave, this company will report to him. Understood?”

“Deputy CEOs need to be voted on,” she countered.

I smiled. “My vote is the only one that matters here. I hold forty percent. Isaiah holds forty-five percent. Exactly who is going against me, Mrs. Whitaker?”

She clenched her jaw, and her aura turned angry. I definitely need to dig more into this woman. She is going to be the next to leave.

“Why have a board at all then, Mrs. Willis? You don’t seem to want to follow any of the bylaws of this board.”

“When there is a bylaw I need to consider, I assure you, Mrs. Whitaker, I will follow it. This vote you want is pointless. Paul no longer runs this company. Birch and Satterwhite both are going away for a very long time, and while I may not be giving up the prostitution ring, there is enough evidence in what I provided for the FBI to catch that little string and pull on it.”

Her face shifted, and so did her aura. She’s involved. I will never understand women who exploit other women. I at least know where to look now.

“Any other questions?”

Another shareholder spoke up, “What changes are you planning to make to Black Enterprises, and are you open to hearing our suggestions, or will that be pointless too?”

I smiled. “I have several changes I would like to make. I’m not a silo in my work, though. I always invite ideas and take good ones seriously. I am not here to be a dictator, but I will make it known now, I’m cleaning house, ladies and gentlemen. Either get in line or sell me your shares, and I will find new investors.”

Everyone looked at each other and then back at Isaiah and me. He has been quiet, but intense desire is being pushed through our mate bond. I guess he likes my authoritative side.

When I was younger, I threw myself into learning business, hoping my dad would take an interest in me and want me around. It was all for nothing, though. It took years to realize how ‘for nothing’, it was too.

After three hours of going over the business items I wanted to revamp, restructure, kill, and implement, the people in the room, minus Mrs. Whitaker, were all looking at me in a different light. At first, they were asking me questions to try to back me into a corner, but that was pointless.

I’m not stupid. I never was, and I always like showing people how foolish they are for underestimating me. When the meeting adjourned, Isaiah and I went to my new office. It was the one that used to belong to Paul. I was half afraid that it was going to smell like sex and ass when I walked in, but thankfully, it didn’t. At least when he was here, he was working.
