I really hate rejections. As soon as I’m back inside, I sit in the seat next to the door. We put it there on purpose.

“I, Adrian Willis, reject Sinclair Willis’s rejection.”

The mate bond snapped into place. I immediately mind-linked her.

‘Mission accomplished, little sin. Can we never do that again?’

‘That is the last time, Adrian. When all this is over, we might need to talk about seven, instead of six.’

I chuckled in the mind link. ‘Remember those words, little sin.’

Aiden is now in Alpha mode. “Okay, I have the guards on standby. They are departing in two hours.”

I relayed the message to Sinclair, and then we were too far away. The connection closed. I have to rely on a remote-control video game now. I hate this. I hate it with every fiber in my being.

Thalia put her hand on my shoulder. “Are you feeling well enough to go lay down for a bit?”

I sighed. “I think so.”

“I know this is hard, son,” Dad said. “Sinclair knows what she is doing, though.”

Thalia smirked, though. “I couldn’t help but listen in when you were talking to Sinclair. Seven instead of six?”

I chuckled, but it was dry. “Pups. Seven instead of six.”

Mom and Dad laughed. “Well, at least we know you two are going to have quite the reunion,” Dad joked.

Rory and Jonah looked sad. Rory especially looked sad. “She’s coming back, right?”

I nodded. “That’s the plan, sis.”

“Going back to the human city is dangerous for her. What about the hunters?” she asked.

“They work under Julian. As long as Julian takes her in, they can’t touch her. That’s also why I’m sending warriors with her.”

“Yeah, but they have a two-day lag.”

I smirked. “The ones we are sending today do. I personally sent some three days ago, when we all decided to execute this plan.”

Aiden laughed. “You need a pack of your own, brother. Then all the brothers will have a pack, and you can keep your Luna in line.”
