Chapter 20-2

“Good evening, Maria. How are you tonight?” I asked her. “I’m good, Leandro. How are you? Where is that missing girl of yours and that beautiful son that your mom told me about?” she asked me. “I’m better now that I’ve got my girl back. They are both in the living room with my mom. I just came in here to bring the cheesecakes that my girl brought with her. She brought two different ones with her for dinner. I’m sure that Effie would love to see you if you can step away for a minute,” I told her.

“Let me finish up where I’m at, and then I’ll come see her and that baby of yours,” she told me. “Ok Maria, I’ll let her know that you’ll be in.” I left the kitchen and headed back to the living room. My mom was holding Veer loving all over him. And my dad and brothers weren’t in here yet, so I figured that they were in the office since I knew that they were here.

“Mom, where’s dad and the boys at? Are they in the office?” I asked her. “Yes, they went in there for something about work. They said to send you in when you got here. River and her guys are on their way. They are running a few minutes late, but they’ll be here soon,” she told me. “Ok, I’m going to go see what’s going on. Do you need anything, baby? Or does our boy need anything?” I asked Effie.

“We’re both good, Leandro. And if we need anything, your mom is right here. Go check in with your dad and make sure everything is ok. We’re good, I promise,” she told me. I kissed her on the forehead and then kissed my mom as well before taking Veer from her. I gave him a kiss on his head and then said, “Change of mind, I’m taking my boy with me. He needs to see his grandpa and meet his uncles.””

Mom gave me a dirty look and went to swat me on the ass. But I darted away from her and took off down the hallway. I could hear Effie’s giggles following me down the hallway. My little man was also giggling, and it was cute as fuck. “Come on, little man. You and Daddy are going to go and see your grandpa and meet the rest of your uncles,” I told him.

When we got to the office, I knocked once and then entered the room. Dad was behind his desk and had a scowl on his face and looked pissed off. “Who pissed in your cheerios, old man?” I asked him. “Just more trouble with Egor. We got ride of one pest and his band off jackasses just to end up with another pest in his place. But we can talk about all of that later. For now, hand over my grandson. I have some time to

make up with him,” he said.

“Yeah, you and me both, pops. I’ve missed out on a year of my son’s life. I understand why I did, though. She heard the conversation between me and the succubus that day at my condo when she broke in. And she had shit that she ran from her mother and Egor over. As far as she knows, they are still looking for her. And after a call to her dad today, I can confirm that. He said that he’s glad that I finally found them. That her brothers were moving here to protect her and Veer. Because Veronica doesn’t pay attention to them and hasn’t seen them in years. He likes her having more protection, though. I guess that Veronica and Egor keep coming to him and having him followed trying to find her. From what he has heard, she sold Effie years ago. And the guy is pissed off because she got away from them. So they are trying to get her back so that they don’t lose out on money or their lives. They will anyway, once I get my hands on them. I’ll kill both of them for thinking that they can sell my future wife,” I told them.
