How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 100

Yvan pressed his lips together. “…I’m sorry. I’ll be more careful next time.”

The caregiver smiled. “Dr. Spencer, your husband is so worried about you.”

“He’s not my husband,” Winifred quickly clarified.

The caregiver laughed. “Oh, he isn’t? Your boyfriend, then?”

“Just a friend,” Winifred said, feeling embarrassed and slightly annoyed at Yvan for causing the misunderstanding.

The caregiver glanced at Yvan and immediately understood.

It seemed he hadn’t won her over yet. It was tough for men these days; even someone this handsome had to chase after a woman.

Yvan opened the food containers. “Are you hungry? I brought you some food.”

“Thank you, but you can go home now,” Winifred said. “And please don’t bring any more next time. The food from our hospital cafeteria is perfectly fine.”

“As if I’ve never eaten cafeteria food. What’s so good about it? You’re not eating that for the next few days. I’ll bring you your meals,” Yvan said as he adjusted her bed to a sitting position and set up the small bedside table.

Winifred sighed in frustration. “Yvan, the caregiver can do all this. You should go home.”

Yvan remained unfazed, continuing to arrange the utensils for her.

“Can you eat by yourself? Or should I feed you?”

Seeing this, the caregiver felt like a third wheel and quietly slipped out of the room.

With the caregiver gone, Yvan grew even bolder.

He scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew on it to cool it, and held it to Winifred’s lips. “Try this. It’s fish soup. It’s good for your recovery.”

Winifred’s expression hardened, and she was about to scold him when the door was pushed open and a nurse walked in.

Yvan had no choice but to put the spoon down.

The nurse was visibly surprised to see Yvan there.

Her eyes casually swept over the four dishes and soup on the table before she smiled. “Oh, Dr. Spencer, you’re having your meal. Looks like quite a spread.”

The nurse said urgently, “That’s not the main point. I saw Yvan visiting her. He even brought her food, and he was feeding her himself!”

Cornelia ripped the mask off her face. “What did you say? Are you sure you saw that correctly?”

“I saw it with my own two eyes,” Luna Carter said. “I’m her attending nurse. When I went in just now, I saw Yvan holding a spoon, about to feed her. And the food containers on the table clearly came from home.”

Luna was Cornelia’s best friend and knew about her crush on Yvan.

Cornelia’s hands clenched into tight fists.

She had really underestimated Winifred. Telling her one thing—that nothing would happen with Yvan—while secretly cozying up to him behind her back.

“Cornelia, do you think they’re together?” Luna asked. “What are you going to do? What’s Yvan’s attitude toward you these days?”

Not wanting to lose face in front of her friend, Cornelia feigned composure. “How could that be possible? Yvan is just playing around with Winifred. That’s how successful men are—a little bit of a playboy. You just wait. In a few days, Yvan will get tired of her.”

Luna was scornful but didn’t show it. “So you’re just going to let Winifred walk all over you? What will people who know the situation think? They’ll say that the daughter of the hospital director lost to a junior doctor. Can you just swallow your pride like that?”

Cornelia’s grip tightened. “Don’t worry. Winifred won’t be gloating for long.”
